Money well spent getting this game. You’re not gonna find this anywhere else.
The game is tied with 2 for being the best in the series. It has an awesome story (somewhat slow for the first hour, but by no means bad) and great gameplay.
This game is just like the rest of the series. The stroy is amazing, the rest of the game is a bit repetetive. Still there is so much to do in the game
Around the time Yakuza 4 was being released I began hearing about the game, although after further research I do remember hearing about those who had asked actual Yakuza to play a Yakuza game (the 3rd specifically). Either way, everything I had heard about 4 suggested I would like it, especially when I heard it had a great story. So I picked up Yakuza 4 and after less than an hour of play decided I liked what I had seen and played. Since the series is basically one big story I decided to hunt down another game in the series, which was this one, Yakuza 3.Over the course of about a week I put almost 33 hours into the game and finished it on the normal difficulty. Having done so I promptly went out a picked up a copy of Yakuza 2 and ordered a copy of the first Yakuza. Obviously, that means I’m giving this game a high rating, and here’s why. While I have not yet played the first two games in the series I was able to get some idea of what happened thanks to the inclusion of story overviews, presented in video format, in both the main menu as well as when the game begins. This allowed me to get some idea of what happened, despite not having as close a relationship with the characters as someone who played the previous games in the series. The story itself is rather robust, and ties together rather nicely in the end (although I’m on the fence about how the ending worked out). The main character doesn’t always tie things together as quickly as I’d expect, but I suppose he does have to p.
More of the same but it’s what we want. Three large awesome environments. Looks great on ps3.
Fun game
It’s a good game, it’s definitely my least favorite yakuza tho. It does have great moments and has a good message.
After some thought I pre-ordered on impulse knowing this game would have too low of a supply for a clearance price drop but boy was I wrong about doubting this game. Best impulse pre-order ever. This game brought me back to the Dreamcast days. Think Shenmue/Virtua Fighter. The Yakuza 3 demo does not do this game justice.Remember Jackie Chan for the Playstation? This game brought back memories of many Martial Artists. If you have any interest in Martial Arts BUY THIS GAME NOW. Adventure/Arcade style beat ’em up with RPG elements. Fast action with extremely fun mini games along the way. Yakuza 3 is so entertaining it does not need an online mode for a crutch. Coming from an online only fan this is a pretty good side step to step forward. It’s just plain fun with a good story to boot.Haven’t played Yakuza 1 or 2? Don’t worry this game has you covered. There are Yakuza 1 and 2 cinematics to get you caught up on the story. Also like to add:This reminds me of the older brother/sister spoiling Christmas…Yakuza 3 is under the radar already. GO IMPORT it if you’re such a snob to underrate this game because of import differences. If you are on the edge on either buying this or waiting for a Yakuza 4 import(and cannot read japanese) get this game you will not be disappointed.
I couldn’t put this game down when I first started playing it. It felt like a true masterpiece. The only problem with it is the game started to get old after about 15-20 hours. Nothing really changes, the story just progressed. Great story, but I need my character to change a little throughout the game.
This was one of the best stories I’ve ever been through in a video game. From start to finish you are drawn in. The argument will be made that the game play is basic and too easy but the game play isn’t really what a game like this is all about. The creators of this game didn’t want to make a game where you might get stuck half way through and give up. They wanted to create a story that you pick up and continue to turn pages until it is done. This is evident in how you have to watch to 20 minute long videos in beginning of what took place in Yakuza 1 and 2 in order to get the background for the current game. Well Done!!!!
