This is a great game overall. It’s like a blend between Double Dragon (from NES days) and Final Fantasy Tactics… sort of! From graphics to voice acting (including Patrick Stewart as Xavier) to a very decent script, this game is well-rounded. I think fans (like myself) of the X-Men as well as new comers to the genre will both like it. Read on for more detail about the game. The basic theme is that you run around various missions, moving in real time, and encounter all sorts of enemies. Every mission is part of an evolving plotline that involves classic X-Men villains like Magneto and Shadow King. You control one X-Man at a time, but you can have up to 4 X-Men in a party. If you’re playing one-player mode, by pushing the directional pad on the controller up, down, left or right you switch to a different X-Man in your team. So, if you’re fighting up close and personal, you can go to Wolverine but if Sentinels drop in and you want to fight while retreating, you can rely on Cyclop’s optic blasts.Every X-Man is fully customizable. You control what ability they develop (will you max out Wolverine’s healing factor or focus on his claw attacks? Will Iceman be a ranged attacker or melee? etc.) and how they raise in stats. You can also equip them with armor and items you find (though the system is pretty simple here with only 3 equipable spots per X-Man). In combat, you push R2 in combination with circle, triangle, X or square to activate a different ability, so it’s not t.
X-Men Legends is, hands down, the best RPG of 2004 as well as the first enjoyble X-Men game since the arcade game. The graphics go great with the X-Men universe, the voice-acting is suberb, the gameplay is addictive and fun, and the action is incredible. One of the best parts of the game would probably be the flashbacks, in which you take control of the original X-Men in their very cool vintage suits and battle Sentinals and the Juggernaut (the first 2 flashbacks). If you like RPGs or are an X-Men fan, this game is definately worth the money.
I love this game. I did come to a part in the game where it glitched and I couldn’t get passed it. However, once I started the game all over(which was a pain), I made it all the way to the end…it could have been my TV or game system but I just thought I would add that in to be thorough. The shops were very nice and accommodating. I got my game in about a week and half’s time as well.
Decent replayability, fairly long game. The gameplay gets slightly repetitive near the end.
Great game. Old copy went bad. Glad to find replacement!
Having first appeared in the pages of Marvel comics more than 40 years ago and recently starring in two highly successful movies, dozens of comic spin-offs, and video games on nearly every platform since the 8-bit NES, the X-Men have broken out of the geek-chic mold of the comics universe to become modern pop culture icons. But thanks to their new digital debut in the action/RPG genre with X-Men Legends, you’ve never seen Xavier’s men (and women) quite like this before. X-Men Legends is equal parts super-powered team-brawler and carefully customizable RPG in the vein of successful genre-benders like Baulder’s Gate, but mixed with the familiar flavor of the Marvel universe – meaning Legends is saturated with atmospheric authenticity and comic book continuity. The exciting and original story (penned by former X-Men comic authors) starts when Magneto’s minions attempt to kidnap a powerful young mutant named Alison Crestmere for use in his attempts to rule the world and subjugate humanity. In order to combat Magneto and his evil Brotherhood of Mutants, you assume control a group of four X-Men selected before each mission stage from an overall pool of over a dozen of these famous fighters, with the ability to switch between each character on the fly. Perhaps the coolest part of X-Men Legends is the handy Dynamic Joining feature, which allows you and up to three friends to each take control of an X-Man at any time and come and go as you please without disrupting the progress of the.
I have always liked the xmen great game thank you
I have not been able to complete this game as of this review, but with what I have played so far, I love it!. The graphics are a little on the cartoony side, but still looking good. The game play leave a little to be desired, especially in the co-op mode. I find the co-op mode needs some work, there are so many places in the game where the co-op mode does not exist and I believe that if you are going to make a game co-op, go all the way not half. Combat is great in co-op mode, the battles are quite involved and rather enjoyable. The ability to use multiple x-men in one battle makes for a great way to fight, if it turns out that a boss or something else is re. The leveling system is great for allowing you to control the development of your heros, you can either develop the combat skills for the front line fighter, or you can lean more toward the mutant power to be able to stand back and support the brawlers with incredable powers. I really like the fact that the fliers are actually able to fly through the game(as long as you have the power), and all the mutants actually have the powers that they are suppose to have, wolverine heals, nightcrawler teleports, rogue drains life. I also enjoy the fact the they have more then just the most prominent x-men in the game. The only part that kinda bugged me was the fact that you keep getting place in single palyer control of a budding X-men and are unable to co-op play during that time. but that all from me for now.
I used to read the X-Men a lot when i was a teenager and when i went to college, well, this is game has it, the same feeling when you read the comic book, it is as good as Wolverine’s revenge and i can assure you it has a lot better plot than Ultimate Alliance. You can walk in the mansion and use the danger room to get experience points. The game is like Champions but with cell shading graphics. The game is based on the comic books and not the movies and is a great addition to anybody’s superhero game library. The game can be played in 1, 2, 3 or 4 players, and if you’re playing your game alone and somebody comes in and wants to join, you can simply do it pausing the game and adding the control to the second, third or fouth player immediately and if that friend or family member has to go or simpley doesn’t want to play anymore, you can pause the game and simply turn off the control to the player. The game is long enough to keep you busy and fun enough to keep you playing.I give this game four stars ’cause the second game has better graphics and you can use both good characters and evil character ’cause the plot makes good and evil get together to confront a common enemy. If you like super hero games, don’t doubt it, this is it and you can find it very cheap for it is an old game; and if you like the X-Men, well, what are you waiting for?
This game is fun and it’s co-op, the story is great and it’s and rpg game with x men characters who wouldn’t love that. I really love this game, But what I hate is that when your x men die you have to spend money to get them back, really? Why not just get them back at a checkpoint or at the end of a level. But that aside I love This game and If you like Good Ps2 GAMES, good rpg’s, or good X-men games, you will LOVE this masterpiece, I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS GAME! Its also on ps2 and gamecube so if you onw either of those but it!
