One of the most fun games I’ve ever played. The kind of game you will lay back on the couch as it’s not about riddles, the graphics nowadays aren’t great and sure, the story is a little poor but it has the element that most consoles (Nintendo apart) have forgotten about, entertainment. As the tag line says: There’s no business like monkey business! Running on a wall while shooting, somersault in the air while drawing a Katana and ending the combo sliding on your knees firing behind your back at two different targets in different directions. Keep in mind that it is a violent game, if you are not into that sort, avoid it as they are quite generous but if you don’t take that sort seriously, the action in it is epic.Well worth it’s price.4 stars as the game froze a couple times due to the condition, but copied it to the HDD and it’s a blast!
This game was two things I look for in a game: Different and Fun.It reminds me of a game that Quentin Tarantino would make. Think Grindhouse meets Kill Bill. The controls are great and the action is non-stop. There are a lot of extra challenges when you are finished with the single player. An under-appreciated gem!!!
great product
I really enjoyed this game, it’s the closet thing to a video game adaptation of Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2 that you will get.I can understand why some people will be put off by this game: the fighting/combos aren’t very deep, the story is like it or hate it, some of the characters are a bit annoying. But, I found it very enjoyable, it has a very unique style to everything that I haven’t seen before in a game, it’s a bit wacky at times, the combat and battle situations are different enough to stay fresh and keep the game moving. There’s a “bullet-time” slow motion mechanic that you enter are you do any type of acrobatic maneuver, while it bullet time you can quickly and easily take out your enemies. For close combat you also have a sword. Combat came in 3 varieties: arena battles, general combat while going through the level, and blood rage arenas. All are enjoyable, and slightly different from each other.Overall, if you like a game that’s easy to get into, enjoy the grindhouse style, like wacky characers and story, and like simple yet satisfying combat, then you will enjoy this game.
awesome game
First, the good: This game has an awesome soundtrack. And it’s used to full effect, giving even the basic game a strong action movie vibe to it. In the better parts of the game, it brings out the sheer “moments of awesome” that is why you play video games like this in the first place. Apart from the sound, the voice acting is well done, the game mechanic itself is pretty slick and the art style & environments are unique. Some of the level design is truly inspired. One level is a car chase on top of the cars, jumping from crashing vehicle to vehicle. One level is skydiving without a parachute, shooting bad guys and exploding barrels (who makes these barrels?). Lots of goodness here. The bad: It gets repetitive after a while. The endless hordes of bad guys who die by the busload as you dive, tumble, swing, slide and flip is beyond ridiculous. I do wonder about a character whose aim improves during a backflip. The challenge mode in the Boneyard is fun, but assumes a knowledge of the level that required much more dedication than I felt like giving. To sum up: Get it. Now that it has come down in price, it’s well worth it. Don’t expect anything too deep, but enjoy the ride. And the music.
This game is a lot of fun if you are a fan of Tarentino, Guy Richie, or Robert Rodreguez movies. I think the music really adds to the game play and takes this from a 4 star to a 5 star game.
This was a game we had borrowed just randomly as we had never heard of the game. After playing through and beating it once we decided we wanted to purchase it and play through it again and get many of the secrets throughout the game.It is a fairly straightforward game that plays kind of like Prince of Persia had a baby with Max Payne. Any time you fire your weapon from an acrobatic maneuver you go into a sort of “bullet time” and allows you to wipe out many enemies at once. For larger scores you need to chain these bullet times together to allow more kills in a single run.Overall the music is stellar and fits the mood of the game quite well and the controls seem to be very intuitive. There really aren’t many areas where you completely get stuck, but there is always room for improvement to better dispatch the enemies for a higher score.
beautiful action pack game…very grafic
While the game is definitely worth playing, its gameplay is rather short. If I remember correctly, it was at the most five levels. Some levels are definitely replay instantly, some are just rather a nuisance. Overall, the game is fun. Its style is somewhat comparable to Kill Bill, the music heard in game is rather fantastic.
