I enjoy playing Viking! It is a good looking PS3 game with a beautiful open world environment, so there is plenty of exploring to do and places to visit. There are a couple of things that keep this game from being AAA, but even so it remains a fun and challenging game. The camera takes getting use to. It is 100% under your control all the time, and you have to learn how to work with it while fighting for your life! I much prefer a camera that doesn’t require the player’s input as much, but knows how to follow the action by default. The sound effects and music could be better. The game lacks an over arching music score most of the time, and so things seem pretty quiet. Sound effects are present but minimal. The sound crew could have done better, and it would have raised the game’s enjoyment level. It is true that the frame rates drop when there is a lot of action, that is when there are large armies of people on screen. On my PS3 it hasn’t slipped into unplayable territory, but things do get noticeably sluggish. The story is nothing special. If you are into deep plots and twists that make for a compelling story, Viking will disappoint. That is about it for the bad, the rest is all pretty good. I like the fact that enemies are almost all human, or human like, not a composite of weird monsters, giant spiders, scorpions or whatever. Archers, swordsmen, armored swordsmen with shields; enemies you would expect to fight as a Viking. I love the environment! It is fun to explore, natural l.
🤩
With a glitchy overblown frustrating game like Assassin’s Creed gettin all the accolades, it’s no wonder games like Viking get overlooked. I rented this game with low expectations, but alas, it’s really cool. The graphics are not Call Of Duty 4 amazing but they are quite good. The voice acting is decent and the game is fairly easy to get the hang of after a while. The open world is full of color and magic and you can get from one place to another fairly quickly. Also it has really cool finish off kills. Gory as hell. I am having much more fun with Viking after about 4 hours of gameplay than I did with 2 of Assassin’s Creed. That damn game is overhyped. Check out Viking.
this game is good alot of action and gore the only thing i dont like is it doesnt have a mission log and its hard to find out what to do. i got this game the day it came out and im at the end of the first island and im stuck map doest tell you what to do sometimes. but over all the game is fun and the graphics are decent the best part is watching your viking chop off limbs and then there head. this game isnt for everyone if your a baby like some people then you might b**** about having to run to places. for people like that Sorry they didnt have space ships and race cars back then GROW UP!!
Wow. I bought Viking:BFA before I read the reviews, only because it was on sale. Worried about the reviews, I almost took it back before opening it. I’m glad I didn’t and decided to try Viking anyways. I’m really pleased I did because the game is great.I don’t usually like hack and slash, button-mashers but for some reason the fighting in this game has really clicked for me. The animations are smooth, the controls are responsive, and the finishing moves never get boring to watch.Leveling doesn’t occur through a tradional “point-based” mechanism, but through a couple of interesting mechanics. Fighting moves are available for purchase as are more tradional spells. The moves are pretty easy to pull off and the spells are easy to access. There is something compelling about this system and even while writing, I’m thinking about a couple of moves that I would like to purchase.Graphically the game is great looking. While the game is played from a 3rd person perspective, the size of your character is closer to that of sam fisher than a traditional diablo-type character. As such, the detail is great on everything about the character except the facial expressions. I was wishing for a little more in the facial expressions. It would have given the conversaions with NPCs a little more appeal. It’s a minor nitpick though.I can’t say how the game will be after another couple of hours, but right now I’m having plenty of fun. Actually, I’m enjoying it more than another more highly rated game.
Very nice theme regarding Vikings and their legends.I spend hours playing this one, it presents a very good action and some fun as wellRecomended!
It’s really nice game
Genial en castellano y recordando lo buen juego que es, llego antes de lo esperado, muy recomendable si te gusta los juegos en 3 persona y temática vikinga.
This is a good epic game. You have a lot of taskes to complete during the role game.
I held off on getting this game because I saw all of the reviews that suggested this was a very middle of the road game. And for sixty bucks, it is very middle of the road, maybe even terrible. But for THIRTY bucks now….Storyline – fair to slightly above average. You go through different islands and clear different areas based on what you learn along the way. You collect gold to get upgrades on everything from maps to weapons. I’m a fan of the viking period in history, so I found myself more interested in the story than I probably should have been. It does get rather repetitive. It does get rather repetitive.Difficulty – game is easy to learn and to play. Maybe too easy. You run around and use combo’s to slay enemies. And I do mean slay them.Graphics – not too bad. Kills are VERY gory. Probably the only reason for the “M” rating is the quantity of blood and limbs that are thrown around with finishing moves. The AI is not very good, if you run out of eyesight of enemies, they forget you exist most of the time. I didn’t care very much for the cutscenes between major battles.Overall – I’m glad I bought and played it. I’m probably not going to finish the game, and I’ve put about 12 to 15 hours into it, but am very rapidly losing interest. At thirty bucks I feel like I got my money’s worth.Hope you found my review helpful!
