Vectorman 2 is one heck of a fun game. If you have never had the opportunity to play this game, then you are missing out! Vectorman 2 is much like Mega Man in that there is a lot of shooting and platforming. It is not as hard but is just as much fun. The controls are intuitive and is basically like the old arcade side scrolling shooters. If you haven’t been able to play Mega Man because you don’t have the Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64 or GameCube then you owe yourself a play of this gem of a game for the Sega Genesis.
The first vectorman is better graphic and music wise but in this game, you fight bugs who took over the Earth soon after WarHead was defeated by vectorman. You now rise to take on the alien threat. This game has better weapons an better morphs like the scorpion morph, skater morph and tank morph were the coolest, Now there are weapons like reflective beam, molt beam and other cool weapons. The only other cool stuff is you can do mini games easier (COLLECT CERTAIN AMOUNT OF PHOTONS IN A LEVEL BESIDES FIND THIS THING TO DESTROY THE RADAR IN THE LEVEL IN VECTORMAN 1). The mini games consist of going thru this tube blasting aliens and collecting stuff as a vectorman like ship and where you destroy moons around planets of a vectorman like ship. One last thing is vectormans voice is more robotic an cool unlike the first game plus the Giant insect bosses are WAY better than vectorman 1 bosses but enemies in this game are worse than in vectorman 1 (cuz in V1 you fight robots). If you somehow cannot find a copy of vectorman 1, got bored of it, or just looking for a action packed Sega Genesis game with a low feel but creepy cool bosses, weapons, voice acting (which vectorman does a good job at after blowing the bosses ass off), morphs and bonuses, Give Vectorman 2 a spin.
So i got this in the mail 2 days before expected delivery and boy was i impressed. The shop didnt promote any fancy details or anything. He simply put "clean label" and "works perfectly". I was pretty skeptical that it would work since most old used items are in bad shape and most people online are trying to get rid of their stuff. But when i opened the package; it looked brand new and it played just like it originaly did in 1996. I am very pleased. Thanks to the guy who sold this to me.
the game play is do good!! 5/5the sound is SWEEEET!!! 5/5the controls=SMOOTH!!! 5/5graphics are great for it’s time!!!4.9/5this is my favorite and I say is the greatest game for the sega genesis!!
The first Vector Man was an instant classic, this one on the other hand was awesome too but there were some changes, some for the better and some for in my opinion the worse. The story line is a little bit more complicated this time. Vector man destroyed War-Head in the original game. Your doing your routine job of being a sludge pilot and bumping tunes in your space barge (that’s what happens in the opening movie and it pretty funny and the graphics are good) and life seems like its back to normal. Until a missile fired from some unseen intelligence. When you land back on Earth you notice a new kind of enemy has become of all the pollution created by the orbots and War-Head, Mutant Insects! And the unseen mastermind behind this new take over. I wont write anymore spoilers you’ll have to get to the last boss to complete the story. There are a lot of new things up in this sequel. The morphs are now level specific with an exception of a few. Like in the first Vector Man you start and end the level with a specific morph. This time you have a huge range such as natural disasters (the tornado morph which is cool) to heavy artillery (You can turn take the form of a tank and you can blast through just about anything). I would have liked the morphs to be a little less level specific but here’s a bonus to the sequel and that’s you can obtain powers from your enemies and morph into more powerful versions of vector-man. There is a shield from the Shield bug, Scorpion tail from the giant s.
I bought this to satisfy a nostalgic urge. Its a fun, traditional side scrolling- shoot ’em up genre game. This game is from a time when games were sillier and much lighter. If you are looking for something fun to let your kids play without any worries then this is not a bad place to start.
This is a great follow-up to the original Vectorman, also for the Genesis. Run, shoot, jump, transform and fly as the high-tech Orbot.
After playing terrific Genesis game, Vectorman, you would wonder what the sequel has to offer.Well, the sequel is actually a continuation of the first game. Nonetheless, since it plays like the first game, it is just as great and fun as it.The gameplay is awesome. You get to shoot in all directions, double jump, and get different weapons. Vectorman can also shapeshift when you collect a certain item. In a water level, he swims farther up, which is pretty helpful since he doesn’t swim. There are some levels that change the gameplay a bit.The bosses are pretty difficult, but once you get the pattern down, you can defeat them a little easily. The sounds define the action genre. Shooting sounds, explosion sounds, and catchy background music.Overall, this is a really great game Genesis fans should go ahead and buy.
Loved it, works great!
I was so excited when this first came out. I loved the first game. One of the problems with this game is the story. Vectorman gets shot out of his space ship by a missile, but then the rest of the game is spent fighting bugs, swamp creatures, reptiles and so forth. The first four levels are really dark and hard to see as well. You get hit by these annoying bee-like things and they change your color to purple or black or something else. Vectorman also does a lot more talking than in the first one, feeling the need to announce what each power up is. It gets kind of annoying. The first game was better in this regard since he would say things like, "I like it" or "ha ha ha" in his robot voice. This time he says crap like, "5 times". The key, just like in the first game, is to find the 10x in one of the levels and then immediately hunt down the free life. This will give you 10 free lives and allow you to easily beat the game, which has 22 levels in all. The last boss seems hard, but just run back and forth without jumping and shoot diagonally. It is a joke of a boss battle to beat the game. The victory scene is also lame, unlike the first game where you feel a real sense of accomplishment. The first game is better in every way, but I still enjoy this one too from time to time. It is sad that this character was born and ended his life on the legendary Sega Genesis console.
