IF YOU LIKE MULTIPLAYER GAMES, OR YOU LIKE TO PLAY AGAINST YOUR FRIENDS AND SUCH, IT IS GREAT. IT IS A LOT OF FUN, AND THE WEAPONS, AND CHARACTORS ARE GREAT. THE GRAPHICS WOULD GET AN A- BUT THEY ARE STILL UP TO XBOX PAR.
I just got the game and I love it. It brings more than UT and UT2003. I have the whole collection now and I think Xbox makes the best FPS I have ever seen. It has most of the same weapons that are in UT2003 but brings a couple extras. Also, the weapons look different than they do in 2003. I thought there were going to be vehicles in it but I guess they took them out. I read some other review that you could download them off of the internet with Xbox Live. That was a major let-down. With System Link Capabilities you kick your friend’s ass on the game. I give this a FIVE because it brings you the same entertainment that you get from paying UT and UT2003. The only downfall for the release was there were no vehicles.
The hardest thing I found was getting to grips with the controller, being used to playing UT tourny on the PC it was quite different, but after a few days things are starting to fall into place, I have even started to jump around a little too!!The graphics are great playing even playing in thru my 10yr old 25in screen!! the levels also take some time getting used to, especially when you’ve been playing UT for months. The sound is great in Dolby Digital, thru my home theatre setup the walls shake, although I don’t thing the neighbours are as enthusiastic :-)The game itself well it was exactly as I expected I mean you can’t exactly improve on gameplay it’s just prettier. It will never look as crisp as a UT2003 on a ĆĀ£1-2k state of the art pc but for the ĆĀ£150 xbox it is nothing short of breath taking and would look even better if I could afford and nice flat screen tv but hey you can’t have everything.Conclusiondon’t miss it in my opinion, jeepers I’m saying this without even trying it online, will retrolio allow be to have 6 stars whent he live bit comes out in the uk?
this game is kick but. you can play online without the key bord in your way, and its alot like tribes. i played all night with this (even though i stink i did alright) if you got xbox live and 50 bucks in your pocket, get unreal tournament.
The title of Unreal describes this game perfectly. A must for xbox live. Bombing run is sweet. Capture the flag takes some strategy. Deathmatch is insane especially on small boards. Massive killing. I wouldn’t buy if you don’t have live though. 1 player mode is good for training to go live with the people.
If u have Xbox or Xbox Live u should definitely get this game. I own and its absolutely the best. How can anyone say anything bad about this game? There must somebody that never really played this game or isn’t a Xbox fan like some of us. this totally is better than UT2003 and is probably gonna be the best multiplayer and Xbox Live game ever but Halo 2 would probably be the King of Games. I say it again: Get this game if u have Xbox.
From someone who has actually PLAYED the game. (I dont’ understand how someone who hasn’t played it can review it one way or the other). In any event, the games is good. Very good. If you’re familiar at all with the Unreal Tournament/PC series, you will feel right at home here. The player models, game types and some of the maps for UC are the same as UT2003/PC, but the graphics are not as good. To be fair, pumping the graphics on UT2003 makes it look incredibly pretty, but the game begins to chug, even on my high-end PC. I haven’t played UC Live or Multiplayer yet, maybe tonight. But the single player experience looks pretty darned good so far.Does the game suffer from anything??? The same thing all fps type games suffer from on consoles . . . NO MOUSE/TRACKBALL SUPPORT. Moving, looking and shooting with the thumbsticks is an imprecise study in frustration. Why oh Why hasn’t a third party developer come up with a simple trackball type device. It would DEFINITELY make games like this more enjoyable and reduce the learning curve for people coming over from the PC world.Don’t expect much of a story line here. There isn’t one. UC is a sport where you kill the other guy, or take his flag, or toss the ball into his base thing (bombing run). That’s all you need to know.If you’re an action gamer who is used to the fps control scheme, GET THIS WITHOUT HESITATION. If you had a choice between UC/xbox and UT2003/PC *I’ve got both :), I’d say go PC simply because of the possi.
First time I played this game, I went straight to Live play. And I did not like it at all. It just seemed like senseless killing with absolutely no point. Then I tried the single player mode. It helped me ease my way into this game and reduced the learning curve immenseley. Now, I only played Team Deathmatch mode in single player before I had to return it (it was a rental), and that was the only mode of play I could get into. So maybe if I played the the other modes offline I would have enjoyed them more. Nonetheless, Team Deathmatch was still more fun than any other Live game, once you get into it. To me, it felt like some kind of extreme basketball game where instead of getting points you had to kill. At one point when we were winning we all decided to get together and find a hiding spot. I had never experienced such levels of teamwork in any Live game, even Ghost Recon (the fact that you have to press the white button to to talk leaves many players mute)! Also, no other Live game takes advantage of the service better than this game. It has better than average Quick Match and Optimatch features, player rankings, 4 player guest support, downloadable content (coming soon…), and more!!! It will be a long time before another game uses Live as well as this one.Though you really need to play aat least a little bit of the single player mode first, I don’t reccomend this game to anyone who doesn’t have Xbox Live. Otherwise, this is definately the game to get with your XBL Starter.
Great game based on Unreal Engine 2 (obviously) intended for multiplayer, but is also good for the lone offline gamer because it uses BOTS! Bungi should take notice. Now half the games out there seem to use a modified Unreal engine…Love the taunts.
I got this game thinking it would be better than Halo. Unreal Championship is fun but it just doesn’t have that same flavor of Halo. When I shoot someone with a minigun, I expect him/her to die quickly. Same with the rocket launcher. I just don’t like it when someone survives 3 rockets shot at them. I really don’t like the rocket launcher. It doesn’t look like one and it doesn’t look like you’re shooting a rocket. It is very confusing if you want to play multiplayer. There is no multiplayer option in the menu, yet multiplayer is available; up to 4 on one Xbox. I haven’t played xbox online yet but if I had a choice between Halo and Unreal Champinship, I’d play Halo.
