Introduction:Stardate: September 15, 2004. Ah yes. All settled in for what is going to be the best platformer of the year… "Sly 2" of course. No, not "Ty 2", that isn’t out yet! I’m simply dazzled by Sly’s presentation. It’s fun sense of adventure. The humor. Oh, then there’s a little thing called… the gameplay. Not as impressed… but wait all the reviews say THIS IS the bees knees. I beat it and while I think it has elements that are fun, the gameplay just doesn’t make any sort of impression and ultimately had NO replay value, a very bad combination. Too much sneaking. Too little platforming. I then cross off Ty 2 from my lil holiday list. Why? Well, if Sly 2 isn’t all I hoped, what are the chances that Krome, the creator of Ty 1 can come through? I was thrilled with Sly 1, so if 2 was a bit of a let down, maybe it’s time to re-think things. Better safe than disappointed…Then how the hell?Well, I got a Freedom Pass. I got it before anything ‘new’ came out so by the time a new wave of games hit I wanted to try out, I was exhausted trying out last years garbage… and some of this years (SEE: ASTRO BOY). Anyway, Ty 2 came in but they couldn’t find the Xbox version, so I tried the PS2 version. It had some shoddy frame issues and honestly the game looked fairly limp. Ah, but they got in the Xbox version the next day. So having put a couple hours into the game, and liking it behind the mighty, err, not so mighty PS2, I got a full wiff of the Xbox version. B.
Ty The Tasmanian Tiger 2 Bush Rescue is a direct sequel to the first game. The game has undergone a few changes from its prequel, such as polished graphics, open hub worlds, mission based gameplay, new enemies, new boomerangs, and even mech suits to pilot (Or Bunyins as they’re called in the game) Returning from the first game are the tight controls, dual boomerang action, and silly yet awesome characters I’ve come to love. The Story is that Ty and his friends from the first game have founded a rescue base, called Bush Rescue. But Boss Cass has been busted out of prison and has founded his own city, and is visiting our hero’s home turf on official Cassopolis business, and as such has diplomatic immunity. Ty must gather evidence of Boss Cass’ wrong doings, foil his sinister plot, and save his friends and family. But he’s not alone on this quest. Joining him on the front lines in the battle of Good and Evil are his long time friend Shazza and his Brother Sly (I think they’re brothers since they look similar and Sly calls Ty bro).As mentioned previously, the game is largely mission based. The player receives missions and can complete them in any order desired. While some of these missions are harder than others, and some have a strict time limit they must be completed in, none of the missions are so hard you’ll want to throw your controller down. True, some can get kind of annoying, but none of them are so hard they’ll take you much more than two or three tries at the mo.
Love the game, but was told that it would work on Xbox One. It DOES NOT work on Xbox one; I have now wasted 60 bucks. Again; an amazing game, I love the series, but NOT COMPATIBLE WITH XBOXONE. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
Have loved all of the Ty the Tasmanian Tiger games and wish there were more than the three. They have kept my six grandchildren enjoying them since I got the first one! As children gain patcience and stop rushing through the game they learn if you slow down you can find a lot of hidden items.

My 5-year-old (4 at the time) put this game at the top of his Christmas list because he had played, and loved, the first Ty game.He was very happy with the game. The game play is sometimes challenging, but never frustratingly so. He and I play together sometimes, with me taking the controller when he needs to get past something that’s a little too challenging. We completed the game, but he keeps going back for more.I just saw that Ty 3 has come out. The fact that he is already begging for it is some indication that Ty 1 and 2 are worth it.
