If you like platformers like crash bandiccot, you’ll love playing Tork. Gameplay is about transforming into three powerfull creatures (I like the Yeti! he has great shockwave attacks, a huge special power, and a nice fur:)The graphics are amazing and I like the fact that the environments are full of life (try the “grevious gulch” or “Ice” levels first!)The gameplay is simple and fun, controls are tight, camera smooth (with a limited control that can be frustrating sometimes at the beginning but happens to be good for this kind of game)I highly recommend Tork, I give 5 stars, because it’s simply one of the best platformers ever
Everything was just the way is supposed to be…..no problems with anythingthanks
Adventure games are often by their nature silly, but fun. Tork is no exception! You get a young caveman kid in a land of pterodactyls, questing and gathering. In a computer gaming world full of prostitutes and drive by shootings, it’s nice sometimes to find a game that is fun for kids, reasonable for adults, has lovely graphics and generally satisfying gameplay. You play a pre-teen kid who wears a strange red headdress complete with horns. Your dad is abducted, and your village destroyed. With the help of a local medicine man, you have to learn to develop your powers to save your dad, save the world, and gain the respect of all around you. This is the sort of quest that most of us can relate to :)The worlds you go through are nicely done. There are different themes – desert cave world, icy cave world, cave world full of plants, and so on. Each area has a specific task you’re after. Again, this makes for great gaming for kids – they know what to do and get satisfaction when they do it. For adults, it means you can whip through a number of levels before it’s bedtime – no long fruitless hours of trying to figure out what happens next. The graphics are rather impressive. If you stop and pause, it actually looks like a painting in many cases – but when you start moving again it is of course a fully realized 3D world you are in. This is about as good as I’ve seen on the regular XBox console. I have some problems with the camera, and clipping, but that seems to happen in every game.The.

Fun,..yet challenging
I had lots of fun playing this game too, but I haven’t seen the final version yet.

*TORK – XBOX*I remember seeing ads and short videos for Tork on the official XBOX website a year or so ago. I was bummed when I found out it was being put on a shelf with the possibility of never being released. Thankfully, I was thrilled when I found out it was going to be released and even more so now after playing it. The levels are colorful with tons of eye-candy. The creatures are interesting, but usually simple drones to have a short duel against. The surroundings are fresh and interesting with a “never a dull moment” scrolling motion. The levels are sometimes easy and sometimes very challenging. I get to play the more challenging levels and my kids play the others. My kids love it when I play because the game is so good looking, they forget I’m playing and get captivated by the brilliant colors and non-stop action. They love watching it…seriously…they beg me to play! Okay, you got me, so I like the game too! But they really do like to watch me play the more challenging levels…really, really. There’s no slow-down and everything seems to be very well done. My only complaint is it can get awfully hard at times (and I’m a serious veteran video gamer, all the way back to the original Atari pong). Fortunately, there are plenty of checkpoints and if you lose all your lives you can start over at you last checkpoint with 5 more lives. There are very slight camera issues when you try to back-track. During a back-track effort Tork is so low on the screen it’s sometimes hard.
Worth every penny paid for and keeps my grandson busy for a long time. Good fun for a child with no bad language etc.
