Works great
One thing that not a lot of people talk about with the PS2 is it’s controller, mostly because not a lot has to be said. Sony’s upgrade used a controller that was very familiar to it’s loyal customers, adding only a couple new features. Meanwhile, both Sega and Microsoft released consoles who’s control pads were panned. People said Sega’s shouldn’t even have been released yet, and Microsoft’s controller was just too big (a friend once described it as being “like a cereal bowl without the fun”).All around, I love the PS2. Graphics are good and the games released are generally a lot of fun. While Microsoft’s rig was decent, it’s development was a big half-assed in comparison. Not knocking xbox or it’s fans, I was just rather disappointed by their OS and some of their hardware choices.What really amazes me about the PS2 now is that it’s held up. It’s still relevant after all the next gen consoles have come out.
The item was almost OK., the PS2 console was good, I haven’t tested the memory card, the AV cable is good, but the controller does not work with the only game I have and the only I like to play (MLB10 the show).I contacted the rep and they issued me a partial refund of US$ 8.00.
old school and great
It got here quicker than expected, came with a controller all the cords and 4 random games. It was supposed to come with a ps2 memory card, but i got a ps1 instead.
The Playstation 2 is one of those classic game systems that are great to have around. I usually break it out every once in a while to play my old games. Works really well, plays DVDs and PS1 games. The slim is more compact and easier to store. This set includes one controller, but even now you can find a second if you choose. It was packaged nicely, with no damage to the box or interior. I bought this several years ago from retrolio, and it is still going strong, even after 7 moves.
ordered this used in good condition. when it got here it was in the box just like it would be if purchased from a store. very pleased with that. the box was in good condition but you could tell that it had been opened a few times. not a big deal. the ps2 works very well with no trouble. it also came with a controller and the cords needed for it. i would purchase from this shop again.
This is just really Great. I am soooo very EXCITED about my purchase. This is my very first video game system and I am still trying to get used to it. It is very small and very much so light weight by all means of the term or pharse. It sorta looks like a toy and very small LOL. I am just so happy about this. The Sony PS2 is easy to set up and easy to operate and it is very user friendly. The price was super cool and retrolio.com’s Customer Service Rep. Mary was so beyond wonderful and helpful to me as well. This review is not just for the PS2 but it’s also for the Rep. Mary or whatever her name is. I think that’s her name, but anywho. When I had a problem with the game I purchased 2 months ago she helped me. I wanted the Pop Caps Hits Vol.2 and I bought it. However; I was renting a Brand New PS3 Move and I couldn’t play the game on it. I sent it back and only got a partial refund. When I called Mary helped me out and also took the time to find me a PS2 so I could repurchase the Pop Caps Hits Vol.2 again. I really wanted that game and now. Thanks to Mary I have a Brand New User Friendly PS2 Slim and the Pop Caps game I wanted. Mary I truely Thank God for you being so wonderful and taking the time find me a New PS2 game console so I could get the game I wanted. FIRST ONE ORDERED AND RETURNED: This was supposed to be simply "open box" which is why it was inexpensive. It wasn’t just "open box", it was used and in just okay condition (scuffs and everything). Well, no surprise, when my daughter opened it on her birthday, it DIDN’T WORK. Not on any of her games. Talk about a let down. She specifically requested a PS2 because she has so many PS2 games and would prefer to continue playing those rather than purchase a new unit and have to restock her games. UPS is supposed to swing by and pick it up today so I can get a refund. Hopefully, they’ll do it soon so I can try another unit.SECOND ONE ORDERED: I ended up going with a more costly unit, but it was worth it, since it functioned as it is supposed to and my girls can now play all of the games that they’ve been unable to play for a considerable length of time.
My PS2 came relatively quickly, and in decent condition. My only gripe was that it was FILTHY and I spent about an hour cleaning it with rubbing alcohol and water. My other problem was the video cord was cracked and only sort of worked with some issues in sound. I replaced it with a cord off retrolio that cost me a dollar and I’m all set. Guess this is what happens when you receive a used item, but it works, and you can’t beat $50. Just know that your rolling the dice with used products, so far I have been lucky with only a few speed bumps.
