I have always been a Nintendo user, but recently I was given the urge to play Halo and Gears of War, and the only way of course, is to buy an Xbox. I wasnt sure that I wanted to spend the money just because of this, specially this specific xbox console. Im gald I did. First off, the way it look is just too cool to be true and the machine itself seems to run smoothly and without issues. I have tampered just a little with the internet connection, but it seems great so far, and of course, a 320 GB HDD is not bad at all. Loving it so far!
I really like this bundle a lot especially since Gears is my favorite series. I was surprised that the console is a darker red thou not like in the pictures where it looks red its more on the maroon side. The sound it makes when u turn it on is from the main menu song in gears games and the sound the disc drive makes is the sound in the campaign that lets you know you cleared all the enemies. Its good to finally have an xbox that doesn’t make as much noise as my old style one which was so loud I couldn’t take it anymore plus it used to heat my room up. It does still make some noise when playing a game from the disc that is not installed so its not whisper quiet like some say but when you install the game to the hard drive it is quiet.Update: I had to return my console to retrolio because it started to make a strange chirping noise when a game disc was spinning sounded like a fan problem. retrolio was great and sent me a brand new one which works great but it seems to have a louder disc drive when running a disc from the drive so I’m a little disappointed about this wish I could return this one too but I doubt retrolio would let me return another one just because the disc drive is slightly louder.
My son had an original Xbox, and an Xbox 360. The original still works but won’t play the latest games. The Xbox 360 had issues with its hard drive and we couldn’t resolve the "red screen of death". He’d already been asking about getting this edition so I pre-ordered it and have been very pleased with it. The improvements over his old Xbox 360 are nice (HDMI w/o buying add-ons, larger hard drive, etc)
Well, I ordered this for my 16 yr. old nephewfor Christmas. My sister has been unemployed forover 2 years,so she could’nt affored anything forhim this year.Well not wanting my nephew to havea sucky Christmas, I got this sweet system for him.The look on his face was more than worth the priceof the console when he unwrapped the box.He was speechless, and I do believe heteared up a bit!I knew almost immediantly what it meant to him.This was one of the highlights of our family’s openinggifts this year for sure.Ordered it here on retrolio and got it 2 weeks before Christmas.I must confess though I could not resist sneeking a peek atthis uber cool 360 after it arrived, but thats our little secret!
This Xbox works the way game console should work. I have an Xbox for years (since 2005) and the number of RROD I have had is almost once every year. And every year Microsoft mailed me a replacement, their cost oh well their fault. So when I saw this slim with gears painted allover it, I must have moments come over me. Now having it wow, is quit no more spinning jet of death. No more toaster oven heat coming out of it. Also now having so much memory like an elephant, not like a goldfish. My games are in the hard drive so it’s even quieter. I am glad I up graded. P.S. the controls they do look cool and battery life in them do also longer.

The xbox console and controllers are looking great! Cool coloring and graphics just as the pictures show.I have played the gears of war trilogy and 3 is a great conclusion to the franchise. However the same issues I have with the previous installments still exists in the third. I felt the ending was somewhat rushed and Epic could have given a stronger closing act to the series but that’s a small complaint.The gameplay is as sharp and executions are as bloody fun as ever. Lancer Chainsaw anyone?
I already own the first XBOX 360 (the white one) and the XBOX 360 Elite (the black one). The Elite started giving me the one red light and I brought it in to a local shop to get it fixed. Now it happens every two months or so and I’m getting tired of it. Plus, it is loud…no joke.As a big fan of Gears, I needed a new console and the game and this was a perfect buy. Checked with the commander (wife) and funds were available for my new toy. Ordered this bad boy on the 19th of September and was at my doorstep the next day right when I came home from work – I was so excited. But, as life would have it, the console was never installed until that Friday night and the game played until Saturday afternoon. Priorities…REVIEW on the CONSOLE:This console is much smaller than my XBOX 360 Elite and now fits perfectly in my home theater shelf. It is also quiet…finally. Oh, it looks freakin’ awesome. My purchase came with the game, 320Gb hard drive, two GOW controllers, $40 retrolio credit and a bonus GOW skin. All in all, great bang for the buck when you consider the controllers are $65ea at Target.The negatives…the sound effects are cool, but the sound quality is an epic fail. Maybe they saved money by using old laptop speakers from the 90s. The lack of HD cables and the controllers DO NOT come with a rechargeable battery pack or cable. BTW, I bought the
let me start by saying that this console is gorgeous i have no cons whatsoever with it in this bundle you get everything you need expect a hdmi cable qith is not a big deal for me since i have so many extra ones in my house the art work in this console is gorgeous when im playing i cant stop looking at it this is definily the best console that xbox has produce better than the upcoming mw3 xbox coming out and im a die hard cod fan but i just couldnt pass out on the gears of war one also the game is really fun i mean we are talking about gears so you know is good and the gb hard drive comes handy you know that you will never gonna run out of room if you are thinking in getting this console dont wait any longer you wont regret it and retrolio are the best takeit from me that i have own a lot of xbox console and this one is by fr the best looking one and definily A KEEPER
Red is cool, black is cool, skulls are cool, and this console comes with Gears of War 3, my favorite Xbox 360 game. Plus two rad-looking matching controllers with those adjustable D-pads, and a massive hard drive (by 360 standards). It’s slim, too, so it’s a nice size, doesn’t overheat and has all the accoutrements missing from the bigger, older Xbox 360s. Also makes weird Gears of War menu noise when it turns on. Fancy!
