First, I’ve been a gamer for 20 years and this is the most fun I’ve ever had in a racing game.I’ve put a lot of time in PGR 2, Forza, Forza 2, Forza 3, and Grand Turismo.Pros:Awesome carsFun online multiplayer modesMost fun single player with 60+ hours of gameplayGreat customization of upgrades / paint jobsGreat customization of gameplayGreat control of carsPaved and dirt roads and free roam mode with ability to fast travelCons:Have to pay for some car packs…No splitscreen (This would be the perfect game if not for this)If they could have some sort of mode where damage would affect car performance that would be interesting
I was never big into the Forza series, but when I heard about this open world version, I just had to give it a try. I really enjoy a lot of the concepts with this game. You have a wide open area to traverse that is absolutely beautiful and you have a lot of activities to keep you busy and earn upgrades/cash for vehicles. The soundtrack is great and the car selection is also very nice. I don’t like how some of the items are modeled like a pay2win or free to play model after purchasing the game, but in the end they aren’t necessary.I also like how the community items are implemented and you can see some of the things your friends are doing. A pretty solid driving game that isn’t just about courses but more about exploration. The presentation is quite nice.
Good game for XBox 360 for those who like driving games. I like the open road driving to the races and everything else about the game.
Really good racing game. Probably the best 360 racing game.
I wish they have like an in game "cruise control" option for the button layout. It’s hard to maintain speed if all you want to do is stroll around and observe speed limits. But this game is awesome… It’s not platinum for nothing.
I’m not a big gamer, but I do love the odd realistic racing game. Unfortunately you have to buy most of the cars. Thumbs up from me.
Forza HorizonAfter reading numerous reviews for Horizon, I played the game thinking it would be what was described as an “expansion” for Forza 4 that was plagued with pay-to-play add-ons or extras. What I found was a game that is quite stand-alone. I can’t see Turn 10 or any developer somehow tacking this onto Forza 4 to make Horizon an expansion pack. The gameplay is quite different for one, and the physics feel different. At high speeds, most cars just start to feel loose and out of control with the smallest of bumps while in Forza 4, most cars feel tight and tend to understeer although there are some exceptions. The physics for Horizon feel flawed, and the car specs are out of touch with reality. For example, I drove a Dodge Charger SRT-8 and it felt slow like it took forever to reach 100 mph while in real life, it would be difficult to keep it below 100 mph. The Ford Raptor in the game can easily maintain speeds over 100 mph while in reality, the Raptor is governed at 100 mph as are the other F-150 pickup trucks due to limitations of the driveline and tires.Dak the garage operator sounds like a moron at the beginning when he tells a NPC that the “fancy shocks” on the Mercedes are garbage and that the NPC needs to switch to something more familiar to him. The “Fancy shocks” are probably the magnetorheological dampers that automatically adjust to changing road conditions within milliseconds. Dak sounds like the typical quasi-gearhead that pounds his chest and proclaims adjus.
Friends told me to get this game and it has been awesome! I love the customization that can be done with the vehicles. The online play can get a boring fast as there are about six or seven races that can be played in some events. Other than that, it’s a great game!
love this game. have been a player of the forza series for a long time. I think this is a great progression for competing with NFS and other arcade games which don’t have nearly the physics of this game.
I’ve played Forza 2-4 as well as other racing games and for my taste this has everything I’m looking for (open-driving, track racing, rally, licensed cars & the perfect ratio of realistic physics vs. arcade-style forgiveness). Maybe I’m crazy, but I even enjoy speeding around the game just for the fun of it.It’s really easy to earn money and new vehicles. If you adjust the difficulty you can make some of the races pretty challenging, but imo they’ve done a great job of balancing it all. You can also modify the performance of the cars, although there aren’t a ton of options for changing the looks (doesn’t bother me). It’s nice you can switch between the music selection. It’s somewhat varied, but before long you might find yourself getting sick of the same tunes.I think this game deserves 5 stars more so than 4, but obviously I’m not saying it’s perfect. I’m disappointed the DLC is so expensive, but luckily the variety of in-game vehicles is enough to satisfy most.
