Controls aren’t clunky maybe ppl aren’t to bright that said that lol.. I beat the game in easy mode found cheats wanna play it all over again but this time try to get all the mini game things! I actually do research on things I’m playing or going to play lol.. got the second one it wasn’t as good in this one you can just chill walk around and do errands for ppl walk into some building and take trains on second one to many (auto playing scenes) no mini games till game is actually beat really and you don’t play as Jackie in those! You can’t just chill to much walk around and discover things or go into any buildings unless it’s necessary don’t get to talk to other charectors to much like you can in this one! Love the game wish it had more mini games to play in between the Maine parts of the game I love casual games more then straight to the guts and glory! There are trophies so anyone saying there isn’t must be really bad at the game haha!
I was attracted to this game because I love the comic books from Top Cow in which it is inpsired. I dind’t know what to expect from the game, so I downloaded the demo and fell in love with it!The action is great, but what really makes this game a helluva fun is the darkness. From the “tentacles” of darkness that you control, to the armor of darkness that protects you from attacks, to the little ones you can summon to help you… it is just amazing!!! That’s what makes the game so much fun, and the story is as griping as the comics, with a little of everything: love, war, gansgters, mafia, corrupt policemen, treason… It was perfect!!!And the ost of the game is just amazing!!!Check it out, you won’t repent!!!
I was told to stay way from this game from a lot of people but now I glad that I didn’t. The game has a great story line and game play I Played a lot of video game and I thought I knew how the story line going to play out but it surprised how wrong I was and it got hold of me and I blew a hole day just playing this game.
Cool game, kept reminding me of the old Max Payne game especially the way your enemies hear the slightest noise from you and all come charging in and you bury them. This game is definetly an experience…get close to your HDTV and crank up the sound and enjoy. The minute you blow someone away at point blank range with your 12ga you’ll be in love. Great sound, graphics and blu-ray finally comes to town with really big levels with lots of nooks and crannies. You have several powers of darkness at your disposal along with conventional firearms so it makes for a great time. This game is money well spent. Here’s my beef with it. Granted I haven’t played it all the way through. First the darkness creep power is too easy, it alone almost has basically got me through the first half of the game. But it never gets old so that’s kind of good. Second, why do I have to shoot an enemy 37 times from 10ft away with dual handguns? Especially when they’re head shots!! The only other minor thing is you can’t see your health bar. You just die after so many shots. One cool thing I was really impressed with was the cutscenes! Really cool how the main character narrates and moves through the story for you. And the load screen animations with the main character are cool too. Good game, go buy it.
I’m a casual gamer, and usually play for an hour or two before I get bored and move on to something else. This game had me hooked. The controls are easy to learn, and the game kinda leads you around to where you need to be. I’ve just beat the Easy mode and now will start the normal mode to see how bad I really am. I have not played the multiplayer mode.The game was really fun to play. The storyline may seem typical for expert gamers. Go there, retrieve this, kill that. But the ease of play was great for me.I thought the main story line, as a mafia hitman was really good. I also thought *spoiler* that the second story of the evolution of the Darkness powers was really good. However, it seemed that they did not mesh the two ideas together really good. It could have been two distinctly seperate games. I hear this was based off of a comic book series, so readers of that might have the ‘missing pieces’.The Darkness powers were all fun to use, the Darklings especially! Quite enjoyed the banter of the kamikaze!So, for overall funness and storylines, I give it 4 of 5. If they had done just ‘something’ more integrating the two storylines, this woulda been a 5 star games. Definitely worth the current asking price of $20.
Well the game is obviously an FPS, but it has many game play elements of an RPG. The game tells an involving, but dark, story of a hitman out for revenge against his uncle. The controls are much like other FPS games with the added ability of controlling an ever evolving demon parasite. you level up your powers by consuming the hearts of your dead enemies. This is certianly not a game for children or people who shy away from this type of extreme violence. You might think such gratuitous violence would take away from the story. However it involves you in many side quests to help the innocent and down trodden. The game does great job of making the Main character Jackie Estacado relateable and Human. after it draws you in it takes you to the frightening depths of hell itself. The violence actually does more to show how repulsive this enemy within is than to make you say oh cool I just ripped out this guys heart. and the story does a great job explaining why you remain allied with this “enemy”. The other Main plus about this game is it’s openendedness. Unlike other games that have levels this game is set up more like GTA or even Oblivion where you talk to people and accept missions. You go back and forth to different parts of the city to accomplish your goals sometimes revisiting parts. to get to anouther part of the city you wait for the subway. Trains come by pretty often so you really don’t wait long, but you have to watch the sign to see which track the trains co.
I have own this game for a little over 6 months now. I enjoy playing this game and experiencing it’s unique feel. The Story of this game makes it separate from the rest of the average FPS. This game takes place in a urban environment. The game plays always at night time never day. The graphics are very nice and the gameplay works well with the game. I bought this game for the price which was a fraction of what newer games cost. The creepy feeling of the game makes it worth playing. This game is an excellent value and worth picking up.
Good game
This game is perfect. I loved playing this game so much that I almost wanted to beat it twice. The games boards and graphics vary from playing in the streets, to going to many different parts of hell, to riding in a car, train, tank, to graveyards, to flashbacks, to restaurants, to demons on your arms working in your favor in different ways, to demons you can summon and have fight as a separate character on your behalf while you play too. This goes down as one of the funnest games I have ever played. You play as a member of the mafia (so the story line stays serious; as it should be) who is trying to save himself. Other games I’d give 5 stars too liked Drakes Uncharted, The Condemned 2, Jericho, Silent Hill, Bioshock.Since I’m not going to give a play by play review of the game maybe the games I mentioned help you understand my rating system.
