Great item, Thanks!
At first I thought it would be kinda like The Godfather or some sort of police game…. But it is about alien invasion. It more follows the tune of Halo. Still a fun and exciting game. Kinda sucks you into it.
Cost
I ordered this game assuming it would be a prequal to Xcom enemy unkown but I was wrong. In fact the only reason I played it was because retrolio has it down as a restricted item and I couldnt sell it. But to my dislike I actually enjoyed it. I passed the time until GTA V was released. I would recommend it but I kept me busy.
good to go
I didn’t know what to expect from The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. 2K had changed directions on its development and it didn’t sound like it would still offer strategy or management. What they delivered is actually excellent, although it’s probably not for everyone when you consider the poor reviews it’s been getting from most reviewers.First of all, this is a sci-game that does take place in the XCOM universe. You will notice many references to X-COM: Enemy Unknown, especially when dealing with some of the enemies and their technology. It’s also a cover based shooter, taking inspiration from such games as Mass Effect. The Bureau has management and role playing aspects that are accessed through the base the character you control, Agent Carter, is stationed at. As you talk to people and perform tasks for them, or send your agents on missions of their own, you get to oversee at least some of what goes on as you fight the aliens.Like many similar games, each agent has a class, a sub-class, and an associated skill tree. Agents level up and you select or upgrade their skills. You also find and unlock new items such as new backpacks and weapons and the base lab also works on developing new weaponry. The base is interesting and provides a fair amount of content just in side-quests and conversations, but the combat is really what sets The Bureau apart from other games. You directly control only Agent Carter on the field, and that is straightforward enough. It’s not the best shooting in th.
Some of the best games from the X360 PS3 generation are games just like this. Under marketed with bad reviews from gaming sites (guess they didn’t buy there score)This game is sleeper that never took off. You get your missions Mass Effect style by going to a control panel overlooking the control center and a big board of the US with hot spots on the map. The base expands as the game goes along and reminds me of the base on the tv show Stargate SG-1. There’s plenty of NPC’s to interact with and talk with, there’s also plenty of notes and photo’s to find around the base to give you in site on the main NPC’s around the base. The game also does a great job of laying out IMO of how XCom all came about, What it was going to be used for back in the cold war, What its changing over to be used for, In fact when the game starts the base wasn’t even finished and has only a skeleton crew manning it when the invasion starts. It answers lots of questions like why does the alien weapons blow up after a kill in XCOM Enemy Within/ Unknown. You hear talk and read notes of beginning thoughts on what will lead to the air craft that will later on take XCOM Enemy Within teams in the field, Air craft that will one day fight them in the air and more.Being an older gamer i couldn’t help but be impressed with the 1960’s feel, The look of rooms, Lamps, sofas, night stands, beds everything is depicted accurately right down to the colors that was in style in the 1960’sIt’s a great game IMO and well worth.
Shipped in great shape! Good game!
This is a pretty decent game as long as you realize it is a shooter and not the classic xcom strategy. The 1960’s atmosphere is very well done. My main complaint was the characters weren’t really developed, and the alien invasion seemed massive, but the general public supposedly does not know about it. The Xcom people kept saying they had to keep it from the public so there would not be mass panic. It made the story not very beleivable.
This game is wonderful. The unique combination of RTS and First Person Shooter is a game type all of its own and only a few developers have invested the time and effort to make it the great game type it is. This game is a genre all its own, unique and awesome. well worth the price.
