There are 28 licensed vehicles and over 17 real-world tracks. The 28 licensed cars include 14 exotic sports cars (all capable of speeds of 180 mph) and 14 vintage muscle cars. This was a child Hood game and it never gets old!!! I will die playing this game!! Plus the soundtrack is awesome!!! Pick it uuuuuuup
this game is really awsome. for a ps1 game the graphics are just really good for example the italian job game on ps1 is very blocky but this game is not blocky and for a ps1 game very smooth. the car selection is great, awsome play back value with enough selections of game play like my favorite, the drag race, this game is really good! also i got this game for a bargain …! so if u have a ps1 or if u have a ps2 and want a good racing game this is one for u!!
The case & disc are both shiny & perfect! Thanks!
Back when Playstation was in its early development, my family shared one at Christmas in the year 1999. Test Drive 5 was one of the first games that we got for the 1st gen console. We spent hours racing against each other, crashing into walls and other cars, chasing each other in cop cars…hours. Somewhere along the lines, the console was upgraded and the disc for this game got lost.I decided that this past Christmas needed a good reminder of those simpler times, when the games were less detailed, and they were more about pure fun. This definitely brought back memories for my siblings and I, as more hours were spent playing this game.As far as the game itself? It’s low resolution and limited detail lends to a nostalgic experience. The driving engine isn’t very realistic; everything is very sensitive. All in all, it’s a fun game if you’re just looking for some good old fashioned racing around some fun courses. Oh, and it has a killer soundtrack! As far as my buying and gifting experience, I would buy it again if I needed to. That’s why it gets 5 stars.
Thank you and it was awesome… no scratches.
This game is totally awsome. The cars in here are cool. And they get awfull fast, so watch out! The Pit-bull is that fastest car in the game. It goes up to 229 mph! The cop chase is cool too. U can hit those racers till there busted and rack up the points for yourself. The championship cup races are pretty hard man! U better know your skills before u try those races! And it has very good graphics and no glitches. :)
from the soundtrack to the car selection, test drive 5 delivers future results in a primitive video game era. The tracks were awesome as well.
I remember playin this game back at 99. Great to play again. Maybe one of the best Test Drive game for the PlayStation 1.
Got it for old times sake, I remember playing this quite a bit for the PS1.
When TD5 was released, it stood up to "Need For Speed – High Stakes" – its nearest competitor. (Sadly, TD6 was a bad joke compared to "Need For Speed – Porsche…"). However, for its day, TD5 is one of the finest computer games in that generation – which means, keyboard controlled. If you do love racer games, like I do, and your budget doesn’t allow a force feedback steering wheel, do get TD5. It’s the absolutely best keyboard-compatible car-driving game you can get. What a shame TD6 degeneratd into an arcade game, instead of evolving into a high-class simulation like the "Need For Speed" series did.
