The Good: Transition from PC to PSP is well done, great production values, good control setup, lots to do, deep tactical game play, fun multiplayerThe Bad: Lock on targeting is a bit finicky, due to POV it’s hard to see off-screen targets, a bit of a learning curve for controlsIt’s weird to play a PC exclusive on a handheld. You’re first impression is that it’s going to be terrible. In this case Sierra really did a good job. Instead of just a straight port of a previous SWAT game they gave us all new content. Instead of a first person POV it’s a top down POV exactly like Killzone: Liberation. What I thought was clever here is instead of being able to see every enemy in every room you must enter it before being able to see who’s in there. You can mirror the room and if there are enemies on the other side there will be a green circle but you don’t know if it’s a civilian or an enemy.You have all your PC SWAT stuff here such as team member commands. You can tell them where to go by holding down the R button and sending blue and red with square and circle. You can have them restrain people send in reports or head for cover. You can also have them check doors, clear rooms, just like on the PC. The game has a lock on system where you press L and each enemy has a button near them and you press it to lock on to them. I was surprised how well the controls were even though it takes time to get used to. There are plenty of levels to play through and lots of unlockable content such as, r.
SWAT is fast and fun, packed with great amount of action and even better replay value.
