Got this for my 7 and 4 year old sons….wow this is hard
This game is solid, a lot of fun, very easy to get into and has very good graphics. The cars control just right so you aren’t constantly wasting time bumping into stuff and getting further and further behind in the race. The only thing I didn’t like is that some of the track themes are too garish. You will find a few favorites for sure (I found about 4 or 5). The House of The Dead tracks are nicely laid out (even though I wish those tracks had more spooky sights and sounds like thunder and lightning) and the track that runs underneath the ocean (Ocean Ruin?) is also a winner to name a few favorites. I didn’t like the tracks with the festival theme. I found them to be too over populated with stuff and just plain overdone even for this type of game. I also did not like the Casino and Bingo tracks nor the industial looking tracks complete with robots getting in your way. I hope they have another one coming our next year as again it’s easy to get into. Now if somehow H2Overdrive could be ported from the arcades to the PS3. Now that would be super nice.
Our 5 year old son loves this game!! He is able to go all the races and doesnĆ¢ā¬ā¢t have any trouble with it.
Fun fun fun. For kids 6 and 7 years
This brings back so many memories for me when my brother first brought home Sega Genesis back into 1990. Just like the original, the game starts you off playing right back in Green Hill Zone. I am completely blown away at how amazing it looks! It is just like the original game but so 3D like, it really had my head spinning. So you can play as the original Sonic in Act 1 and for Act 2 you have to switch to the newer Sonic. What’s really neat is after you beat all the Acts (before the Boss) you get to go back and do challenges in order to get keys to face the boss. I didn’t get much further but so far I am really enjoying this game.
Although I’m getting into this game a little late since it’s release, I had a lot of fun with All-Star Racing (PS3).It felt like Sega did their homework with this game before going into full create mode. The track designs, although simple in overall design, aren’t too simple to the point of boredom, and each characters special is fun to pull off. I’m not yet 100% done with this game, but i will be.Just one complaint, and that’s about the title. Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing sounds terrible. I would personally have preferred Sega All-Stars Racing. Sounds better and represents the content more.
We wanted a racing game that would suite all ages since we have a 4 and 6 yr old but yet something our whole family could play together. After researching, my Husband found this game had wonderful reviews and could play up to 4 players on a split screen at one time. We bought it used/like new on retrolio and it is now our family’s favorite :) There are lots of characters to pick and many tracks to utilize so it keeps the game interesting. There are different difficulty levels that are a sinch to switch if my Husband and I want to race eachother only. Also, I like that you can switch each remote to one of several different racing options because, for example, the buttons that work most comfortably for gas, steering, and shooting/items for my husband and I- don’t work the best for our youngest daughter because her hands are so small that it makes it uncomfortable. Likewise, her method cramps our hands. I do like also that you can turn the commentator down or off because I don’t like some of the phrases he uses and don’t want my daughters repeating phrases such as "shutup!" and "he’s sucking fumes"… etc. Also, great graphics, colorful, and family-friendly. I highly recommend!!!
I would rate this game highly: I think it’s solidly made and will provide hours of fun.Ordinarily I wouldn’t have much interest in a kid’s racing game, but I do like to relax when I get home from work with some sort of racing game for about a half hour or so.Tragically, all of the other racing games available for the PS3 are hopelessly bad. I found Grid (rated the highest of all PS3 racing games on Metacritic) to be unplayable and uninteresting. A couple of others were also non-starters.This one, despite being for kids, was challenging yet playable. It ended up providing what I needed.
I recently purchased a Playstation 3 and was sad to realize that MarioKart (my favorite game) is a Nintendo brand game and not produced for the Playstation. After researching a bit I found this game, Sonic Sega All Star Racing, and decided to give it a try. It is seriously the only the game I play! (My husband plays the other games :) The graphics are incredible! You can play split screen with up to 3 additional players which is really fun but can be a bit confusing on some levels because of the vivid colors and all the moving graphics in the background…but that hasn’t kept me from racing everyone I possibly can! The characters you can be are really neat, a step back in time kind of…such choices as Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, Dr. Eggman, and even the Street Fighter guys!! There are a multitude of new drivers and courses, along with music, that you can purchase from the game store using the money you earn while racing :) The money isn’t hard to earn either so it doesn’t become frustrating at all when you are trying to work up to buying something new, you earn about 2,000 credits on average per race with new drivers and courses ranging in cost from around 4,000-35,000 credits. The game offers a variety of racing types for single player so you won’t get bored easily, you can do time trials, grand prix challenges, missions, and single races…all of which earn you points and trophies. When playing with more than one player you have a choice of different race types as well, althou.
I don’t have a problem with it but my son has no patience for it. I have to play the game so that it will be ready for him when he comes over to my place.
