People often forget how difficult it could be to navigate early NES games. Standard practice was to include a paper map with the game (though they weren’t always provided) and these were often inaccurate at best. It was a real treat if the game had a map in-game, but this was rarely the case. Thus, gamers could expect to spend hours exploring, making their own maps or simply memorizing the game by rote.Super pitfall was one such game. As Pitfall Harry, your task is to find and rescue your niece Rhonda and your pet lion Quickclaw. To do this, you must navigate the sprawling subterrain, finding hidden keys, treasures, and secret passages. Harry has a gun to defend himself, and while it has limited ammo, he can find more bullets along the way. Hidden items are found by jumping in the right place (a la Ghosts n Goblins) and secret passages are found the same way, though usually at dead ends. Keys, in the shape of card suits, open locked doors that lead deeper into the labyrinth. Treasures are gathered for points, and piles of gold of different sizes await the intrepid. Greater treasures, however, like rings and necklaces, are hidden and must be found by jumping for them. While the game isn’t without its issues—frequent slowdown and occasionally choppy graphics—it makes up for it in other ways. A lot of other ways, in fact. The first thing you’ll notice is that the game is free-roaming; the second thing you’ll notice is that the game is huge. You get to explore the g.
wife and son loved it. Shipping was faster than expected. Wished it was the original but couldn’t find it. Game works very well so far. Opened it this morning and have been playing it the last couple hours. Will be buying from this company again… Only thing missing now is a giant stereo with an 8 track player!
My oldest is building his NES collection and was happy with this cart. Thanks
