It’s almost like watching Hollywood making a movie right in front of you but you are in contol of the action instead. Just like any game, the higher the level the harder it gets.
Excellent product
I totally dig the Stuntman series but it’s too bad that they are being discontinued. Anyways, as far as this game goes if you’ve never played a Stuntman game then you should know that this isn’t a racing game. The main focus is driving but on top of that your job is to listen to a director and follow arrows and signs that appear. It sounds kind of boring on paper but I found it to be very entertaining. There is also an editor course where you can make your own ramps and stunts and play them out. You unlock various stunt pieces(exploding barrels, busses, ramps and loop de loops) by completing the director’s movie scenes. So if following directions isn’t appealing, there’s always the editor course to look forward to. This is a multi-platform game and I believe it can be purchased on PS2, PS3, and Xbox 360. I have both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions and the winning edge goes to the PS3 version. The Xbox 360 version is decent too, however I noticed a couple areas of screen tearing and frame drops, but nothing that breaks the game entirely. It’s still good but if you can pick one go with the PS3 version. I don’t know about the PS2 version, but you can download it from the network for $9.99 so I’m sure it’s good as well.

Had for the PS2 and just got a PS3 and had to have it. Graphics are better and some updates and new vehicles have been added.
I had played the GBA version of the original stuntman awhile ago and remembering it fondly I picked up Ignition. I haven’t been disappointed with this game yet, unless you consider cursing at your screen a disappointment, and I don’t. The restart option is your friend here as you memorize each increasingly insane filmed stunt until you make it to the end. The lengths of the stunts vary as do the quality of the shenanigans involed but more often than not you will be laughing with this games over the top sense of humour and its skewering of “pop” film directors like “robert Rodrino” as well as the sheer manic feel of the some of the major stunts. The games strength like others before it (Crazy Taxi/Carmageddon) is the joy of the combo and once you five star a run you will feel quite a bit of satisfaction. The music is a little metaly and the directors barking can get annoying but sound effects wise the game is also terrific otherwise. The star system of unlocking films might be daunting for some, but the extra options like odd jobs, freestyle, and stunt constructor set all help fill the time when you are stuck on filming a certain scene. There is way too much precision involved here for the included 6 axis motion control and unlocking the constructor parts can be a bit of work but there is alot of ground to cover here for those who love the gas pedal and don’t mind the restart button. I hope THQ doesn’t kill the franchise but if this is the finale its a grand sendoff. Fo.
I had gotten my hands on a demo version, or maybe I rented this one? – Can’t remember. Anyway, it was a blast! I had to have one for myself!Many great things about this game, it’s fast paced and can become addicting. I found the need to beat my own scores and challenging otherswas another bonus with the multi-player mode.Hard to put down the controller! This was absolutley the BEST driving game I’ve ever played!
