As a huge fan of Star Wars and video games I saw this and got a raging nerd boner. Played it, loved it, recommend it. Nofin more to say, great game.
The Jedi Knight series is one of the best in the Star Wars game universe. I have had this game for a while but decided to play it again and it was just as fun as it was the first time I played it. The controls maybe a little confusing at first, but in a matter of minutes, you completely know how it works and the fun begins. Being a student of the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4 is a fanboy’s wet dream and this game lets you live out this fantasy as you play Jaden, a young Padawan who built a lightsaber without the assistance of a Jedi or the know how to build on, the force is with this one.I, for one, think the story is very interesting. You see the return of JK hero Kyle Katarn, but you don’t play him this time in the game, but he does assist you in some missions. The graphics could be a little better, but I don’t consider them horrible or bad at all. The acting is great and the gameplay is real fun, you get to fight a lot of Sith with a lightsaber in this game. This game also has a high replay value, I’ve played this game all the way through at least three times and I’m ready to play it again. This game is worthy of the title Jedi Knight, it is just as good as it’s predecessors
Grandson really loves this game. Shipping was great.
Works great and shipped fast.
Jedi Academy is probably one of the best Star Wars games out there. Despite not being an RPG, like Knights of the Old Republic and Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, it has a surprisingly amount of replay value due to character customization, lightsaber blades, lightsaber combat styles, and force power selection. It’s the best Star Wars game in terms of lightsaber combat. You have the lightsaber right from the get-go instead of wading through tiring gameplay to get it. The styles of combat and variations of the saber advance through the game, but they’re not just a bunch of attack bonuses with the same swing…each one is different in terms of attack and the slow motion killing-moves are nothing short of epic…I once got into a saber-lock wielding double baldes with a dark jedi while another dark jedi ran up behind me. I kept the lock with one saber while I let the other circle around me, cutting the dark jedi behind me in half at the waist before doing the same to the dark jedi I was parrying against. In addition to wielding a lightsaber from a swoop bike while cutting down other bikers on Zonju V, fighting dark jedi while running from a mutant rancor on Taanab, shooting down TIEs from an enemy dreadnaught, and chopping off arms with your lightsaber, there are a plethora of locations and environments including Hoth, Tatooine, Coruscant, Corellia, Bakura, Korriban, Vjun, and Chandrila with a wide variety of objectives for each mission. As with any game, it’s not.
I had this game for PC growing up and didn’t know it was made for Xbox so I had to buy it when I saw it. Boy was I not disappointed. My sweet childhood came flowing back to me when I remembered how awesome this game is. The only flaw i dont really like it it can be difficult to change force powers or weapons in a battle. But other than that, my all time favorite star wars game. You will not regret buying it.
I hadn’t really heard a lot about this game before I purchased it but I usually like Star Wars games just based on the universe that it is set in. Most of the games have flaws but you play them for the experience of being one of the characters from the movies. This game was very fun and decently long. I liked how you progressed through the game with force powers and you can eventually choose dual lightsabers or a staff. The beginning of the game is very tedious and boring because your force powers aren’t really advanced yet and your only enemies are storm troopers that do nothing but shoot and miss you and then you swing your lightsaber at them once and they are dead. But later on you get to fight a lot of other jedis and this is when the game gets really fun. You have to figure out different ways to kill these jedi because you can’t always beat them just swinging your lightsaber(s). I liked to force grip them in the air and throw my lightsaber at them. The graphics are a little choppy and aren’t the best for xbox and the gameplay is a little repetitive but if you like Star Wars games then you should give this one a try. It is worth buying because it’s a little long and you can try the light and dark paths. Plus if you have xbox live there are good multiplayer games.
Great game. Starting a collection.
I haven’t played a game in the Jedi Knight series since the originals which will always be my favorite games to play. Recently I bought an X Box and thought I’d see how the story and gameplay held up. At first it seemed really good, considering you could pick your species, clothes, etc. …. also the advantage of having to choose your lightsaber color, hilt and style were all surprising high points in the game. Once again the “video game acting” is very poor and corny, but the story followed well. It had many obvious twists in it, but it kept you entertained. The graphics and levels were all very different, vert realistic, and stunning. Another high point while playing. I was also very excited when the time came in the game where your character got to take the controls behind a swoop!!!! Enemies such as the rancors were a different pace and enjoyable to destroy. The only major down point to the game…why I only gave it three stars…..was the amount of jedi and sith there was to defeat. In the original jedi knights you only fought a few lightsaber battles..in some cases such as the first game…you didnt even have a lightsaber. I was glade to see you constantly had your trusty lightsaber on had to fling, throw, and block in times of need, but i found that i never put it away. Around every corner there was someone else swinging a colorful lightsaber blade in your face. I never got to use or try any of the other weapons…which are all very fun to play with…because there was.
