Combine a STAR WARS-style story line with gaming action reminiscent of Namco’s SOUL BLADE, and you’ve got Capcom’s 3-D fighting masterpiece, otherwise known as STAR GLADIATOR. Not only do the characters look intriguing, but the plot that revolves around each and every one of them also helps keep players involved, as do the colorful, kid-friendly graphics and the brilliant soundtrack—which, may I add, one can play straight off the CD. The sound effects are nothing to sneeze at, either. Of course, for fans of the aforementioned SOUL BLADE, the most remarkable element of STAR GLADIATOR is its gameplay, which borrows the basic elements of its Namco-produced cousin and adds its own unique elements to the mix, such as an easy-to-learn combo system, devastating Plasma Strikes, and powerful counterattacks.True, STAR GLADIATOR may not have the following of other popular 3-D fighting games like TEKKEN, TOSHINDEN, and BLOODY ROAR, but that does not mean that it is to be overlooked in any way, shape, or form. Take it from a fellow who has happily owned a copy of this game for nearly a year now—this one is worth it!
star gladiators was an epic game that my friends and 1 played relentlessly . I am more than stoked to find this game after decades of it being obsolete , specially since my buddie and I have bought a playstation from disc replay ( a bad ass game store that sells old outdated games and consoles plus accesories for super cheap look em up )
This is actually a pretty cool game! If anybody wants to see gameplay along with a review, you can check this video out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1T27VCwWmhA&list=UU4fgRnuTrCNaUMSKL1wUSbw&index=7For honest, though, super fun game :3
This game is like Street Fighter II and Soul Calibur had a baby and it loves laser swords! The characters are crazy and original, the gameplay is balanced and tight, and the graphics were great back when it was originally released though not so hot by todays standards. I wish Capcom would make a sequel for PS3 or Xbox 360.
I love my items and they came very quickly. My shopping experience at retrolio is great. I will continue to shop at retrolio. Thank you very, very , much for the extremely fast service and for sending my items in great condition.
I’ve played a lot of fighting games over the years and I haven’t seen many good weapons-based 2D fighting games, let alone ones with a sci-fi stoyline. I actually played Plasma Sword on Dreamcast before this game, but when I realized that it’s the prequel I had to have it immediately because 1. It’s Cheap. 2. Plasma Sword was really fun. 3. It’s not hard to acquire this game complete in perfect new condition. So how does it hold up after playing it’s sequel?First of all, this is a REALLY fun game. The characters are wonderfully over-the-top (Dinosaurs, aliens, and light-saber-wielding heroes? Oh my!), the background animations and levels are all really interesting and fun. The music is great. But the GAMEPLAY is wonderful. Like the sequel, it is VERY hard to put this game down once you start playing. Even if you die, you want to keep going "just one more round!" because you’re saving so much fun, even when you lose. The graphics are outdated yeah, but I personally think they are beautiful. The gameplay is slower than Plasma Sword, but not painfully so. What will make or break the game for you will likely the intentionality of every move you make. Each attack animation is lengthly compared to most fighting games, so you have to be quite intentional with each move you make as you chain moves together (think Virtua Fighter but a bit more forgiving). Some may think this is "bad" gameplay, but this is not the horrible mess of Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi. THIS i.
THIS WAS A GIFT FOR SOMEONE ELSE. AND I HAAVEN’T HEARD ANY COMPLAINTS, AND THEY WERE EXCITED TO FINALLY GET IT. SO THANK YOU.
I love this 3-d fighter. This game kicks. Hayato kicks!
works great, package looked brand new for a 20 yr old game. Finally get to play one of my favorite characters “Kappa””.again. Very Happy.
