I recently completed the singleplayer campaign to Conviction. This is the most unique splinter cell of them all. It’s unique mainly in that this one takes all the protocol that restricted Fisher in past games and throws it out the window. You see, after the death of his friend Lambert and his daughter he pretty much hits rock bottom. As the game starts out you find out that 3rd Echelon, the company that Fisher worked for in past games, is now hunting Fisher and trying to kill him.Now that Fisher no longer plays by 3rd Echelon rules he can now use his abilities the way he(or you) wants to. That also means that he doesn’t have the full inventory of past games, but you still get to use a handful that aid you throughout the game. This is what makes this splinter cell one of the most thrilling of them for me to play. Being able to sneak around the shadows and take down any enemy any way I want makes me feel more like a hunter than an agent. The gameplay mechanics work extremely well and very rarely had any problems with them. The game brings everything together and it is very fun to play. The story is my favorite of the games as well. The story delves more into the deaths of both his friend Lambert and his daughter. Everything is tied up and it is satisfying. The visuals are great as well. Im not going to say that this is the best looking game around but it definitely is the best looking splinter cell game. Nothing to complain bout there.I guess the only complaints I have ab.
Excellent Game – fantastic storyline, exceptional action… some really good features added after Chaos theory (which was great too by the way). Very realistic graphics, dialogue is great & dramatic.. very real feeling, bought it new on retrolio for $17, I’ve only played 3 missions so far & its more than its money’s worth already!Best feature so far – ‘Mark & Execute’ – when u have 2 enemies together, if u shoot one, the other gets very alert, but with this feature u can ‘mark’ them, & when u hit Y, Fisher instantly gives head shots to both of them – BAM BAM! ————-THIS GAME ROCKS!——————
Let me start off by saying that this splinter cell is radically different from previous entries in the series. Conviction is comparatively very fast paced allowing for more maneuverability in combat. The campaign is unfortunately relatively short (my estimate is 5 or 6 hours) but challenges in the campaign encouraged me to retry certain levels. The Co-operative element is very good with several different modes revolving around it. You can play some of these modes solo but they aren’t as fun to play by yourself. Overall this game is very polished but it just doesn’t have a ton of content. It’s a very good game if you are looking for something different than Call of Duty but if you can only buy one or two games a year you might want to give this game a pass since it won’t entertain you for days.
Purchased this splinter cell for the coop ability because I needed more multiplayer games to play with friends. I’ve always been the shoot em up kill everyone gamer not really a sneak around and not kill any bad guys kind of gamer so I love that you can do both if you want. Both the multiplayer and single player campaign are fun and challenging especially when you play the splinter cell way. The graphics and customization of weapons are great. The one problem I have though is that the game environment and lighting and always very dark. Even with the brightness and gamma turned up its still difficult to see and move in the dark areas during gameplay. For some reason in this splinter cell he isn’t given the ability of NVG’s. Other then that I have no complaints definitely a fun game to play with friends(who are decent gamers).
I’m a big fan of the Splinter Cell games and I have all of the previous games as well. I did not give this a 5 star rating because it does not play like the other Splinter Cell games. It felt more like an action game than stealth which made me sad. It took a bit to get used to the different controls and the way this one plays, not focusing around stealth, but I grew to enjoy it by the end. The change in game play kind of fit with the story I guess in a way too. The story was great and takes off from the last game, Double Agent. It was a good continuation and finished off the story nicely. Missions took less time than the previous games to complete so it felt like a shorter game, so I wouldn’t pay more than $20 for this.
I am a big fan of action games, and especially spy games. Metal Gear Solid was the first one that I was exposed to and I loved it. Also, Splinter Cell is a somewhat a competitor to MGS, but I have preference for both. After being a fan for both games on the Play Station franchise, I was kinda frustrated that Splinter Cell Conviction was for XBOX 360 only. Although the controller of this console is not as convenient as the PS3’s, the game is amazing and fun to play. I would recommend to any XBOX 360 owner to have this game (if you like action games of course) because this sequel reveals a lot of what happened in the previous ones. Not forgetting the awesome graphics and amazing gameplay. This game is great!
Being a longtime fan of Splinter Cell and having played everyone but doubleagent, I was looking forward to this installment. If you haven’t played the series before you will probably love tis game and rave about how great it is, but if your a vetern of the series w/Pandora and chaos you will be kinda unhappy with it. This is because the diehard fans know how great the series was and how much of the good stuff ubisoft removed from this game. The game is still good and fun. It redemmed itself to the hardcore fans w/the addition of the deniable ops missions. These are the true SC gametypes. Although u still cant jimmie w/locks and pick up random bottles to distract guards or hide bodies. These all need to return to the series. Lets hope they do next time.
YThe title says it all! With this being the sixth entry in the Splinter Cell saga, Conviction is by far the most action oriented Splinter Cell game to date! Which doesn’t make it a bad thing, but it also doesn’t make it a great thing either. The story goes like this. Sam Fisher is no longer working for Third Echelon, a division of the CIA. He is working for himself, trying to figure out who killed his daughter, Sarah. Anna Grim is at his side, giving him details about his daughter. I really don’t want to spoil the story, but let’s just say it is great, while it lasts. This game is SHORT!! Beat it in two days on “Normal” difficulty. But there is a reason why for the length being short. The game is targeted to more of a casual gamer than the hardcore which doesn’t make it a bad thing. Just easier to perform tasks than previous installments. Such as the new hand to hand combat system allowed the.player to instantly kill almost every enemy with ease. Doing so gives you points to cash in for weapon and gadget upgrades and costumes for multiplayer. Hand to hand combat also allows you to perform “execution” moves on your enemies. A red arrow will appear when you hit the right bumper on the controller. Depending on how many hand to hand moves you do, determine the amount of executions you get. When the arrows are set, hit the “Y” button and all the enemies will go down instantly with a strong cinematic feel. Interrogations also have a nice cinematic feel as well. Multiplayer wise, I’.
I like Splinter Cell Conviction as I have all the previous. I think the story in this one is much better than any previous. And just the fact that I have new rooms to play as Sam makes me like it automatically. I like the additional ability to execute as well but I have to give it a ‘3’ based on the items that are no longer available. The big elephant in the room is not having multiplayer with mercs vs spies. That is my very favorite multiplayer of any game and yet they remove it!?!? I miss the night goggles as well as the thermals. They have replaced it somewhat with the ability to see enemies at a certain radius with a type of thermal but not as real and, in my opinion, not as fun. These are big negatives in my opinion but I still enjoyed the game overall. That is the short of it but I would still recommend buying if you are a Splinter fan but if you are mostly a Merc vs Spy fan, then don’t. Perhaps we need to complain to Ubi about this ;)
This is one of my favorite Splinter Cell titles. It nails story and co op modes, this is also the last Splinter Cell with original voice actors. If this game lacks anything, it’s adversarial modes, however I don’t really care. I don’t miss that at all, the co op and story are the experiences that you’ll be wanting out of this game.
