This game is similar to Marvel Ultimate Alliance except the art is of a different style and some would say more simplified. You can play by yourself or team up and take on the bad guys, it’s cool to also be able to play some ‘bad’ guys who cooperate with you to take down the real enemy. I got my used version of the game for about $11 (which includes shipping) so it’s a definite buy at that price level…I’m not sure if I would want to pay more than $15 for it, however.
I got this game for and I gotta say it was a lot better then the reviews I looked at. you start off as spiderman and you beat different bad guys. after you beat one then they join you. I felt the game was well orginized. You are asked to find certain things in the game and I felt they were placed well and you could find them relativly easy. One thing I hate the most about the “find the fill in the blank” on any game is how hard they are to find. This game was not that way. It was also an easy game to get into and learn right from the start. It was very refreashing to go from a hard game to learn (like mass effect, or Halo) to something that was straight forward.I would say that there are things that could have been annoying. One was the camara was hard to deal with. To make the game easer they took out the ability to move the camara by yourself so the game does it for you and sometimes you cant see what you want to see. the second is the length. If I had payed 20-60 on this game i would have felt cheated because it is short but for the price I got it I felt I got it for a steal. Also its rating for the age is right on. They say on the box for ages 6+. It is set for that age group so I would say if you are looking for a harder game that is longer this is not for you.
Good
Item as described. In mint and original condition. Thank you!
If I was buying this game just for myself, I’d probably rate it lower. It’s sort of a simpled down version of Marvel Alliance. Graphics, gameplay, and plot are all more cartoony. There are less characters, less stat tweaking, less control. However from the perspective of a dad looking for some quality time with the 7 year old boy, it’s a great game. It’s simple enough that he can master it, but varied enough that I’m not bored with the gameplay. He’s been particularly tickled with the variety of characters and enjoys trying out each new team mate and their powers as you unlock them. Our 5 year old girl played it for a while and did have some fun, but eventually grew frustrated with it. Your mileage may vary, but that appears to be about the cut off.Essentially you start off with Spiderman and a few sidekick characters. One person must play Spiderman, but you can select which sidekick to bring along with you for each mission. As you collect coins, you can buy upgrades to the character’s powers and stats. In each zone (made up of 4 missions), you can unlock one or two new sidekicks. Each mission takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. If you’ve got younger kids, you enjoyed the Lego Star Wars games, or Marvel Alliance, this game is probably a good choice.
This game is incredibly fun if you are younger than say, eleven. And it is fun if you like to play games like these with a younger person. I have found that if you try and play a game in Co-op with a preteen that you need to be able to either adjust the difficulty or have it be a little easier to start with. This game fills that niche. Graphics are slanted more towards the younger side and the game is just right for a smaller game fan.
Son loves game. Small technical issue, but nothing to do with quality of disc or shop.
I purchased this game for my 7 year old as a birthday gift based on reviews here on retrolio, I have to say this is by far the best game I have bought for the under 10 set. They play together. There is no fighting. They are actually having fun. Highly recommend it for anyone with children 10 or under. They will not be frustrated by this game and neither will you.
My 6 and 9 years old love this game.
We ordered this because when our grandson seen it at the movies, he really wanted a copy of it for himself. Great movie.
