This game is incredible because not only does it use GTA mechanics to get around new york, not only do you get to swing ON BUILDINGS and NOT in THIN AIR *coughprevious-spidermangamescough*, not only do you get to run on the streets and rooftops whenever you please, not only can you do more super human moves like cooler, simpler combos *coughspidermanthemoviecough*, not only can you collect ENDLESS tokens scattered across new york, not only can you help citizens from saving guys on a seenking boat to thugs holding up an armored car robbery, Not only that this is the most free roaming spiderman game ever made with this time mostly outdoor environment taking place in the story *coughprevious-spidermangamescough*, but now you get to take on a never ending adventure with your host which is of coarse your friendly neighborhood spiderman! Here are my pros. and cons. below.PROS.*Better, more controlable swinging*Ability to run faster, climb faster, and swing faster*protect new york from thugs on roofs, muggers stealing womens purses, people falling off buildings, and more*Boss fights are fun, yet most easy*buy upgrades by earning hero points* find secret tokens all over new york and challenge races in secret spots as well*the story never gets old*do wickedly awsome combos when in slow motion fighting enemies!*Dive off the empire state building and commit suicide!*UNLIMITED CONTINOUS*for the first time…UNLIMITED WEBBING!*throw crooks in the water or off buildings*no repetitive one-.
Thanks,Great game.Fast delivery.Thanks,Precious Pedigo
This game is great. Like any game, it has some good things & some bad things. Let’s talk about the good things first. You can web-swing around almost all of the big apple. You can go almost anywhere in Manhatten. You can also go to the Statue of Liberty, Roosavelt Island, just about anywhere but Brooklyn and Bronx. You can get all kinds of sweet upgrades from the spidey store. You can even pick up bad guys and throw them around. Much better then the PC version. Now let’s talk about the bad things. All the thugs and regular people look the same. They also say the same lines over and over, and play the same music over and over, so after a while you just wanna mute it. The bad guys keep commiting the same petty crimes over and over, and that gets kinda annoying. But sometimes I do like fighting muggers, 7 against 1. I like those odds. There is 1 part when you have to stop these guys from robbing a museum, and there’s 15 thugs you have to fight your way through. Overall, the real strong point of this game is the web swinging. That’s what really makes this game fun. This game gets a 4/5.
This will be the sequel to the spiderman game that come out in 2002 on all the platforms. This sequel will give players new moves and will also have new enemies to battle Dr.Octopus,Lizard,Electro and others.Spidey will also be able to save normal everyday citizens on the street.Instead of an arrow to guide spiderman he will be guided by a map and spiderman will be able to go any where in the city without being restricted. The cameras will also be improved upon. This is expected for release any where from May to July maybe sooner and will be on all consoles ps2,xbox and gamecube.
Spider-Man 2: The Game, released in 2004 for the PS2 and XBOX, is definitely a great Spider-Man game. On virtually every "best Spider-Man games of all time" lists, you’re bound to see this one somewhere near, or at, the top. While I do think this game was extremely revolutionary for its time, and is still good fun even to this day, I don’t think this one quite lives up to the reputation nostalgic fans have given it over the years.I remember playing this back when it released, and the best thing about this game, by far, is the open ended New York City you get to use as Spidey’s playground. It’s awesome. You have all kinds of moves and tricks at your disposal for traversing the city’s skyline, and the sense of speed, sheer variety of motion, sense of momentum, and the visuals for the city itself still hold up wonderfully. Lighted skyscraper windows and buildings as far as the eye can see are still impressive, though the draw distance isn’t amazing. Thankfully, the developers hid this flaw to the best of their abilities. When I first played this, I would get so caught up in just exploring the city as Spidey, that I would put off doing missions for as long as possible, and honestly, that’s probably the best way to play Spider-Man 2.Graphically, the game just passes as OK. Other than the city itself looking awesome for its time, the character models are all pretty weak. Something about Spider-Man seems off, especially around his head and eyes, and none of the other charact.
Let me make this clear, I’ve read some of the reviews on here and unlike most of them, I’ll explain why it deserves a 5 out of 5.This is the very first Spider-Man game where you actually utilize all of his powers and abilities. The biggest hurdle was the ability to web swing and I’ll have to say that the physics envolved with that is top notch. That over-rides any graphics flaws that some have pointed out.You have to keep in mind that if they FOCUSED on amazing graphics, then one of two things would happen:A – The price point of the game would go upB – The playing environment would shrinkC – The game engine (fun factor) would be limitedIf you consider the fact that they have in-game movies that scoots you along the film’s story line and that you can team up with Black Cat, I’d say that makes for a well rounded game. You know a game is good when just swinging around the city and performing acrobatic feats will keep you amused. The civilian missions do get repetitive though. They try to throw in some variety there with saving a balloon for a kid and delivering pizza. Other than that, for once in my video game life, I actually felt like I was the web slinger himself. That’s how good this game is. If you actually read his comic books, then you won’t be disappointed. They have his moves and attacks on point!
My son’s favorite game!
Actually just beat it this morning, wonderful game from my childhood, shorter than I remember(about 5 hours). Minor scratches but plays through to the end without problem.
… at how much I like this game.I’ll be honest here.. after this game, I think they’ve made only like… 1 spidey game that felt halfway decent. This game was the right direction to take it in, but then everything went downhill. It felt like disappointment after disappointment after disappointment. I had decided to buy this again so that I could enjoy a good spider-man game. If it weren’t so dirt cheap, I’d probably regret ever selling it.
This game has only one real downfall, and this downfall is that the game does get repetitive after a short bit. The petty crimes, once you get the fighting controls down, get pretty easy and don’t surprise you much. Also, the storyline is great, but it is almost too easy to play through it quickly. That however, is this game’s only downfall. I thought the first Spiderman game was good, but this one FAR outshines it. I am a big Spiderman fan myself, and I must admit that watching and making the character onscreen dive off the top of the Empire State, do three twirls through the dive, web swing for a bit, and find myself in the middle of Central Park is quite incredible. The game design is nothing short of genius. It’s like Vice City with wall-crawling. I think this game definately makes it into my top 10, just for the experience of playing it through. It doesn’t make the top 5, but the top 10 yes. And trust me, I play a LOT of games.
