Space Raiders
Space Invaders: Invasion Day, known as Space Raiders in North America, is a 2002 third-person shooter video game develop by Taito. A remake of the original 1978 Space Invaders arcade game from its creators. Also Re-imagine for the sixth generation home consoles, Space Invaders: Invasion Day takes the surface-to-air shooting action of the original title. And puts it into a third-person urban street setting on the GameCube and PlayStation 2. Also this update features detail opening cinematics of the alien invasion, story and survival modes. Boss battles and three playable characters, each with their own backstory.
Gameplay
However, the playable characters include Justin (street teen), Ashley (fashion photographer) and Naji (police officer). And while they look different, all three play similarly. From a fix height behind the character the player directs them to shoot at increasingly large waves of various aliens as they march down the street toward the character’s position. Also characters can move side-to-side as in the original arcade game. But also have specific movement both into and away from the screen.
Moreover, occasional power-ups become available giving the player temporary access to special weapons. And strategic use of power-ups is require as the variety of aliens and diversity of their attacks will not allow for the straight forward shooting of the original arcade game. Also the game contains six missions and can be complete in under two hours. A port of the original Space Invaders arcade game include and unlock by a cheat.

Also the game highlights the conflicts of the usual glamorous heroes. And a beautiful girl that’s keen on riding motorcycles, the overzealous frat boy, and the super macho ex-army commandant. All go up against a host of nasty alien creatures, including beetle like bugs and flying creatures.

Entertaining, if somewhat repetitive, however there is never heavy .
Yes it was great
Okay, if you are looking for a challenge, then this isn’t the game for you. But, if you are looking to have some fun then this is a great game to own, especially for the price. The old arcade style action shooter brings back great gaming memories. The game is easy to beat, and the story is TOTALLY cheesy, but the graphics are nice and the gameplay is really fun. A downside to the game is that it doesn’t have 2 player in story mode, which I thought was pretty lame. Overall, I am pleased with Space Raiders.
for a game i only paid $5 it’s great. not only can i use it with the game cube but also with my wii. gamecube games are great for children who only have a wii & for parents who don’t want to spend too much. all it needs are a gamecube controler & a memory card.
