This game is amazing no matter what age you are. Bought this for my cousin yet I find myself playing it more than him. Great game!
I’m not terribly far into this at all yet, but I can tell I’m going to get some real enjoyment from it. The controls are solid and pretty accurate for motion control, which is great after the sometimes-maybe feeling of the Wii. The art style and tone of the game are comparable to the original Fable- a little cartoony, but mostly to add flavor to the monsters and locations you find yourself in. The finer details are nice- the first level, as an example, sports ghostly hands poking from the ground. They can’t hurt you and they don’t interact with you, but the visual is a nice touch that makes the world feel a little more… well, maybe alive is a bad word to use here when I’m talking about ghost hands, but you get the point.I can definitely say that a navigational controller is kind of a must-have. If you can’t use a nav controller the alternative they offer is the standard SIXAXIS controller. And allow me to say that holding one of those in one hand, the move controller in the other, and STILL playing a game in a standing position? A little frustrating.
Yes the story is predictable for a fan of the genre but delightfully so. I enjoy the frenetic pace of changing between spell styles to combat the creatures. Camera angle and aiming should be a bit more refined this is in reference to a 30 min spell fight because the aiming mechanism will target little spiders before it targets the 30 foot tall walking tree. I mean I get it take out the spiders first but after you 40th or so fire tornado taking out the little crawlers and you are casting ice at the tree the game immediately targets the first spider not even in the general vicinity.Anyway I had a good time playing most of the way through and am about to finish soon.
Clearly the game is not intended for hard core gamers who typically prefer God of War or Gears of War, but rather for a casual gamer or younger audience. I happen to be a hard core gamer and yet I still find I am quite enjoying this game based mostly on how it makes good use of the Move controller.Pros:- Good use of the Move controller- everything from casting spells to mixing potions.- Recognition of commands with the Move is pretty accurate most of the time.- The visuals are decent. The look of it is appropriate to the type of game it is.- Ability to combine elemental spells reminds me of the game, Magicka, which I enjoy considerably. Nice to have a gestural version of Magicka.- Ability to research different combinations of ingredients to yield different spells.- Ability to change difficult level during the game.- Game pacing is good. It knows your arms will be tired after an intense bout and so gives you a break.Cons:- Short game.- Camera control is annoying some times.- In practice the need to combine powers is minimal as soon as you get the lightning element.Younger gamers who are into casting magical spells like Harry Potter are likely to enjoy this game a lot.Players who enjoy a game on its own unique merits (in this case the use of the Move in well thought out ways) will likely enjoy this brief distraction also.Players who couldn’t care less about ingenuity and just want to blast aliens like in Gears of War, should probably skip this title.
I have been waiting a long time for this game to be released and it is finally here. retrolio delivered on the release date. And I love the game. The only problem is that you have to sometimes swing your arm a lot to fend off enemies, and a day later, your arm can get sore. I guess I will have to take plenty of breaks in between playing.I’m sure this game isn’t everyone’s style. But if it looked interesting at all to you then give it a shot. I don’t know how long the gameplay is, but it is fun.Graphics and nice and sometimes it can be a bit choppy. But I still love it. I will update later if I remember.
thank you game is great
Great, interesting, fun game. Received the item before the expected date, which I rather enjoyed
This is hands-down the absolute best game I have played for the Move. I know this because I not once had to fiddle with the controls or calibration while I played it. It really does work well and makes you feel like a Sorcerer. This is the game that makes the best use of the Move’s capabilities as it was built specifically for the device. Mending stairways and mixing potions worked really well. The graphics are good, not great, but the world is very colorful and pops off the screen. I also really enjoyed the story, as it is one that people of all ages will like. The music is very good too, as it displays elements of Celtic themes. My only complaint is the slight lack of polish. A level select feature and new game+ mode would have been nice to assist in getting trophies. And it could have been a bit longer, but I myself do not mind short experiences as long as they are fun and immersive, as Sorcery is.I wouldn’t quite say that this game by itself is worth buying the Move for, but you definitely should buy the device for this and other great games like Medieval Moves and Sports Champions. If you already own the Move, this is an absolute must buy!
I love this game it speaks to my inner "wizard"I think people who like Harry Potter, or magical stories will enjoy this game
UPDATE: I’m downgrading this game on the fun factor after playing 95% of the game because there are a *number* of annoying problems with this game. At times, the frustration really makes you want to stop playing.**Be advised that you cannot play this game without the PlayStation Move, it might not be the clearest in the description, but it’s clearly labeled on the box. You can’t even start the game without calibrating the Move controller. **After forcing gamers to wait way too long for a game that was originally a launch title, Sorcery is finally here, and it was worth the wait. The 1:1 tracking of the Move controller showcases the motion controller gaming like it was demoed, and it’s quite fun using the controller as your magic wand. There are times it can be oversensitive, and you might miss your targets, but you’ll get used to it over time.Move controls include swiping left and right to move objects, drawing circles to ‘mend’ broken objects, and flicking your wrist to cast spells accurately based on how high you aim and what direction (and many more). Potions that you can craft are activated by shaking the motion controller, and then tipping it upside down like you are drinking the potion. Twisting your wrist and flicking to the side can also curve your spells which is fun to do and satisfying when you hit enemies behind cover with your spells. This is definitely not the greatest game ever made. The game world is incredibly linear, annoyingly so. Instead of an adven.
