Three is a lot darker and grimier than two. I like the combat a lot better. The Road to Rule is kind of convoluted.
This game was very fun and is a welcome break from all the FPS games flooding the market. That being said it is also a solid RPG that holds you with a strong story and sense of ownership of your hero. The only complaint to give the game is the frame rate is a little slow and also if you have multiple friends online with this game it slows down a lot. The reason being the game tracks all your stats and displays them in near real time, it can be a little frustrating if you are in the heat of battle and your friend kicks 3 chickens and you have to wait until the game updates. Don’t get me wrong this is rare but it is something I think the game developers will fix in the future, and with that there are no other complaints. So enjoy the vistas, enemies, citizens, and world that is Albion.
I have played every fable to date. While Fable III in my opinion is not the best of the bunch, and suffers from some bugs and glitches (most of which were solved by installing to my hard drive) it is still a fun game to play. The moral dilemmas start from the very beginning of the game. You are tasked with gaining followers to help lead a revolution for the people of Albion against your brother King Logan. This is a journey of interesting and humorous quests similar to those in the other fable games. **possible spoiler** The story line takes a twist when you become king. You are notified that Albion is threatened by a great evil. the dilemma If you wish to play as a good king you need to raise money.. lots of money.. people are giving this game bad reviews because they rushed through it tried to be good and keep all their promises but didn’t have the required minimum of $1 per Albion citizen or $6.5 million, this is easy to achieve by buying as much property as early as possible buy all the shops and houses do not progress past 121 days until attack if you don’t have enough money.. This game doesn’t deserve bad reviews because of peoples inability to pay attention to the game..
After finishing Fable II, I was beyond excited to play Fable III. I loved Fable II, and thus had high hopes for the third installment, expecting to see all the best features from the previous game and more.Well, I was not exactly spot-on with my anticipations. This game is more of a “give-and-take” from the previous title, and in this review I’ll explain why.Right off the bat, I was immediately blown away by the game’s graphics. The previous Fable game had left a bit to be desired graphically, and this sequel satisfied those desires and then some. The landscapes were brilliant and felt very realistic. The human characters were very well done, with a lot more variety in their designs as well as looking noticeably more human-like (there are far fewer characters in this game resembling Shrek than in the previous installment). The overall visual design was very creative, and to a healthy extent (nothing cheesy to speak of).I should also state my solid opinion that Fable III has what may very well be the best voice acting in a video game to date. Unlike the first Fable game, the dialogue is by no means generic or corny. The script and cast make the characters in the game VERY believable. The storyline itself is a very well written one in my opinion, and lasts quite a bit longer than that of the previous installments. The story is made more interesting by the fact that it is divided into two chapters: the revolution, and the player’s rule over the land of Albion. The side quests var.
We borrowed the first Fable from a family member, and played through and it was enjoyable but clunky and dated game play. The Fable 3 game had some nice upgrades to the original game, and I love how you can choose to be a male or female. The end quest came too quickly for my tastes, and a lot of people died the first time I went through the end questline. So even though you could keep playing, it was not enjoyable to play because you many businesses were not open because there was noone to run them. I started over and the end questline again came too soon! I definitely want to get some of the other Fable titles!
Like any other fable game you have to actually play into it for a little while until you really get into the full scope of the game; however the plot keeps you on your toes. I would say this has been my most favorite Fable yet and I still enjoy going back and playing the others. I have already made several saves and each has beaten the game with each making different choices to change the outcome. I must admit I am pretty amazed at how much you really can customize the world based on what quests you do and when you decide to do them during the game as well as your good vrs evil choices as well. Kudos! I can’t wait until the next one, but for now I will continue to play this one a few more times and I’m sure revisit it. Def. a keeper for my collection. A must buy for any Fable lover and I certainly recommend it to any RPGer.
Take a quick look at the overall reviews for this game and you’ll notice that they’re a mixed bag across the board and, for the most part, considerably lower than Fable 2.And that… that’s about right. And that’s part of what makes this game so hard to review. For every one great stride the development team made they took two huge steps back somewhere else. In trying to gather new audiences, they piss-off the old fans. In order to appease the fans, they just confuse everyone. They highlights are high. Albion is huge, bigger than ever, with more side quests and things to explore and caves to get lost in and many, many more enemies to face than Fable 2 (not more TYPES, just more spots to find the same old cast hanging around waiting to get killed). The visuals are smooth and the textures are lovely. Character animations are better than ever and the combat is downright sexy at times. The NPC’s wandering about are more of a challenge to win over, so they act less like a mob of lunatics when you wander by. Some of the side quests are long and have multiple stages to them and unlock new areas and are INCREDIBLY satisfying. And the use of a wardrobe and an armory — where your weapons and clothing are laid out all pretty and neat and super accessibly — is now solidified for me as the standard. I know it appears in other games, but its fluidity and ease of use in Fable 3 are so good that anything less will be a step back in any game moving forward, ever. One of my favorite.
Came as described & one heck of a deal.
Favorite game, hours of fun.
Phenomenal role playing game. Bought for my girlfriend who loved the first and second games in the series and this one is no different. Updated story with updated moves and weapons but the feel of the game is very similar to the first 2. Very easy to pick up even for people that are not expert video game players. The co-op is a great addition to the game. Not many games have the offline co-op anymore, so that was a very nice touch to this game.
