Considering that I adore this series, I have to say that I had high expectations for this game. Thankfully, Sanzaru pulled through and produced a great game that really adds to the Sly Cooper franchise. The humor was definitely child oriented instead of the witty remarks I’m used to, but it still provides a laugh in every stage. Overall, I really loved the game, and out of the entire series, I’d have to say this is my second favorite. I loved the ancestors, and Tennessee Kid was by far my favorite. :) But I really liked all of them, and every character had at least some character development, so it was nice to see the characters treated well. Overall, it was a great game and I loved it.
This is the only Sly Cooper game I’ve played. I gave it a try because of all the great things I heard about the previous games. This is one of the few games I’ve purchased on release day, and I’m glad I did!Combat – Honestly, I didn’t expect much in this department. Afterall, this is a platformer that’s not known for spectacular fighting sequences. However, I was pleasantly surprised. Sly starts off with one or two basic melee attacks, but you’ll be able to acquire more moves as you progress through the game. Keep in mind that this is a stealth game that doesn’t really ‘encourage’ the player to engage in combat, but you’ll have a few attacks at your disposal if needed. Although the moves are simple in their nature, they’re pretty fun to execute. If Sly was the only playable character in the game, I probably would not have enjoyed the combat as much as I did. Luckily, I had the opportunity to play as 9 different characters! There’s a nice balance of melee and long-ranged attacks (some players only have melee attacks, while others have long-ranged attacks in addition to their melee attacks). Don’t get me wrong, while you probably won’t confuse this combat with DmC or God of War, you’ll still have a fun time fighting.Weapons – Sly only has one weapon (a cane) that he primarily uses. But, once you enter a new area/map you’ll eventually uncover a new costume that offers it’s own very unique weapon. I’ll refrain from commenting on each specific costume because uncovering these is p.
i only wish more games can come out with sequels this strong. Of the two classic series i brought (the other being ratchet and clank into the nexus) i expected this one to disappoint, but boy was i wrong. It was a straight return to it’s former glory. I just wish it was given more press because it deserves it.here’s to hoping we get a sly 5.
this game is much more better than sly 3 a little hard though levels are tough but i can handle them also i like the graphics and i like the trophies and the sly mask and the treasures it needs more bad guys and less story
I chose this rating because all of the Sly games are terrific as they are fantastic combined. I know that the 3 were Sucker Punch production and they created a very amazing series for themselves. When I first got the game "Sly and the Thievious Racconuous," for the PS2 of course, right then and there I fell in love with Sly games because of Sucker Punch. Then they made a Sly 2: Band of Thievies, then it was Sly 3: Honor Amongest Thievies. Let me tell you that I really enjoyed playing them. I really did love the boss battles. Thank you so much Sucker Punch. A new company took over the series "Sanzaru Inc. I was really glad that you guys remasted the first 3 Sly games onto High Definition because I absolutely did LOVE playing them. Then you guys developed Sly: Thievies in Time and let me tell you that I had a blast playing that. The most 2 things that I loved were the clue bottles were back and the customes. No disrespect but the thing that I did not enjoy was when I was in the medieval ages, I had to buy that bottle of explosive which in order to get, you had to shoot targets. TONS of respect for you guys and for Sucker Punch but I didn’t like it because it was tricky without the auto aiming. I still cannot get through that part. But… I will NOT give up because the game is so awesome. I hope Sanzaru Inc. keeps on continuing with Sly and his gang…

I’ve played all 4 of the Sly Cooper games, and I have to say that overall I really like the series. I had expected this one to have brought some closure to the whole series, but, without giving any spoilers, the ending is kind of left, well, open. Nothing really felt truly resolved. Perhaps this is their way of saying they’ll make a 5th installment to the series. Still, a good buy and a good play, especially since you can easily get the first three at a pretty reasonable price remastered and play through the whole story.
