The negative reviews are pure garbage. The game revisits the same creepy, scary and insane creatures but with better flare, it’s next gen. I think that this newest installment ranks at the top, tied with Silent Hill 2. The new look really sucks you into the atmosphere of the game. It still retains all of the essential elements that Silent Hill is known for. The only time that I have been playing this game is late at night, alone. That is when you will truely capture the best experience playing this survival horror fest. The creatures will have you yelling out loud ” WHAT THE F*** WAS THAT “! I absolutely love the new and improved fighting system. How could you not love this game. It is classic Silent Hill ( walking through creepy fog anyone ? )revamped. It looks and feels better than ever.
Excellent!!!
Great
great
Its here
beats gamestop
Please disregard C. Temples review as it is not even a review, but more so illiterate babbling!I have been a fan of SH since the first one came out. Silent Hill: Homecoming is a great addition to the rest! This is the first one I have played on an xbox360 console and not PC. While the controls were easy to get accustom to I must say the graphics were awesome! I immediately turned off all the lights in the room, turned up the volume on the surround sound and played on my 42″ 1080p LCD (what a difference from the PC!!). The fact that Akira Yamaoka did the music for this SH made it even better and boy does he do a wonderful job!A nurse with no face and a hot body pops out of a bathroom stall, a hole in a glass window is bleeding, lines of insects lead you to your next clue, the mayors digging up graves and you are stuck in a maze of a sewer and when you get it wrong the clinking of spidery creatures are coming! While I’ve never really jumped while playing on PC I found my body very alert and responsive to the eerie black environment, the sounds and creatures. The spine-chilling and grotesque themes are amazingly crisp and the creatures just pop out at you when you least expect it! And yes it can be difficult to “see” in this game, indeed it is very dark, but that is why it is so much fun because you can’t “see the whole picture” if you did it just wouldn’t be that scary. The story line so far is very appealing, as to why the relationship between Alex and is family is so flawed I.
Best silent hill since sh2, but sh2 is very old. franchise still needs a reboot. sh downpour sucks
I’m a very big silent hill fan. Love the concept of the franchise. The monsters look amazing, and I found myself dreading what’s around the corner sometimes. Silent hill 3 was definitely creepier but this game I still had a hard time putting the controller down.Only real con for me where some of the puzzles were too hard, but playing a silent hill game that comes with the territory. Silent hill games are known for puzzles that make you think.
To start off: The first half of this game deserves 5 stars. I was blown away when I started playing this; the graphics were amazing, the worlds were beautiful (and creepy), the characters were well narrated, the fights were challenging, and I would actually get scared during parts of the game. Each enemy was given it’s own introduction, and the first encounters seemed almost like mini boss fights. Then there were the bosses: the first two were RIDICULOUSLY hard. It made the game very intense. You were struggling and striving to survive, just as you should in a survival game. However, it was all down hill after the defeat of the second boss. As another reviewer mentioned: in the second half of the game they bombard you with supplies. By that time you should have discovered ways to make short work of most of the creatures you encounter, so you find yourself overstocked. Having an overstock of supplies takes the anxiety out of your encounters, which is half of what causes a horror game to actually be frightening. The last two bosses are rather easy (in comparison to the first two), making it almost seem like the designers got the beginning of the game switched up with the end. Also, the second half starts to take on more a cheesy “we ripped this off the Silent Hill movie” feel. By the second half the game starts to deviate from it’s roots in the other Silent Hill games and head more in the direction the movie did. The plot ended up feeling very “Americanized”; a large amount of.
