wOO! when i first got an x box, i bought two games… this and ‘the sims urbz’,and being a hater of action games, i thought that this game will remain lying on my shelf for the rest of eternity, but i was wrong. once i started this game, i kept playing it, with brief breaks for eating, sleeping, and going to school. love it.
Although I can’t say the same for the gameplay, this game is brilliant and probably the last of the “true” SH experiences. Puzzles are more about environment this time around, and can be reasonably fun. The combat is bearable, but the item management and gameplay when in the “Room” are nothing short of tedious. Not being able to store more than 10 items is a pain, and even more so when you don’t even have the ability to drop anything. But if you stick with it past these issues, you will find that it is a horrific and cringe-worthy foray into the macabre recesses of some truly sick minds, likely the most concentrated, disturbing SH of all 8 so far. I showed it to my friend and he was wincing and shuddering all the way through, and he can usually stomach quite a bit. Games like this (and there AREN’T many) reminds you how far we Americans lag behind in the horror department, relying on gore-fests like Dead Space to shock nowadays. It is an awe-inspiring synthesis of macabre and symbolism-packed story, twisted music, dread-filled atmosphere, and unsettling imagery that may not top the groundbreaking original SH trilogy, but stands as one of the most potent modern horror games in recent memory. This is art – don’t pass it up on a whim just yet.
Great game.. Love it and it may be different but good.. The rest were lame.. Except the music (besides downpour) even silent hills.. That was not gonna be a silent hill game.. I’m glad it failed
Now I got this game yesturday so I’m not very far yet but from what I have played this game kicks @$$. Right at the beginning it is kinda slow , you don’t do alot but within a couple of minutes you should be fighting a bunch zombies/monsters and “dogs”. Bad things about this game – the camera angle is sometimes a pain, it makes it hard to see emenies , and some might consider this a good thing some a bad thing ,but there is no auto aim when you are fighting, it actually requires some skill, not alot, but some.(I think it is a good thing , it makes the game more challenging). And pretty much everything else is good. Good sound , good graphics, I think it has a good concept (wierd but good). This game is definetly worth checking out.
I bought this copy to add to my collection of video games. Originally I have cleared the gamefor the Playstation 2. The game changes the traditional style of combat to include throwing objects.The puzzles weren’t as easy as previous installments,and the story line was definitely one of my favorites.You can quickly immerse yourself with the chilling stories of each counter and their horrific end! A musthave for any true Silent Hill fan.
as with all silent hill games. scary fun play in the dark get creeped out you’ll have a blast. and yes this one will run on the xbox 360 perfectly with no problems
Having a deep seated desire for the games which can scare the buggers out of a person, The Silent Hill series of games is just the ticket.The audio and graphics have been much improved throughout the series (recently completed Silent Hill 3). This is truely a game that will have some hairs standing up on the back of your neck. Plus some extra audio effects which the dolby audio makes full use of. Gameplay however? Could stand improvement. The control method was a little “odd” to say the least. The game offers decent control over your person, however some functions did need to be setup in the custom section. The main drawback to this game? Haveing to deal with the same “bad guy” (as I’m trying not to spoil any of the fun) repeatedly as some will not remain “down” for very long. All in all however I feel the game has made decent improvements in graphics and audio. If you are really into “things that go bump in the night” this one’s a classic for the collection.Pros:Audio quality is excellent: Dolby Surround makes the game come to lifeGraphics: Again, quality and attention to detail is outstanding. One could actually count the 5 o’clock shadow stubble on the main players face.Storyline: Good/fair. In many ways a typical “horror story”..and in other ways very unique.Cons:Controller system: A bit on the chunky side. At times hard to stop player exactly where he belongs to interact with items/peopleEnemys: Most very scary, graphics again well done..however one ‘type.

Loved it. It came in sooner than I expected. But the game was just terrifying. That’s what I like.
