A true successor to Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne. This is a must have for anyone that’s familiar with and loves the MegaTen series. This game borrows a lot of themes from the first two Shin Megami Tensei games, so having played or read up on them already before jumping into this journey is a huge plus. Great music, a great battle system that finally makes it’s return after Digital Devil Saga 2: Avatar Tuner 2, and an engrossing story. Worth every penny.
The fourth installment of the Shin Megami Tensei main series arrives on the 3DS and it does not disappoint. Make bargains with demons, fuse them together to make stronger demons, make your choices matter in a bid to reshape the future of Tokyo and more for the forces of Chaos or the forces of Law.The trademark difficulty of the series is back, as is the Press Turn combat style you may remember from Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. Exploit your enemies’ weaknesses and press your advantage. Previous MegaTen fans will enjoy this, though fans of the Persona games may find the relationship management of those games to be missing. Don’t judge this on Persona’s merits, this is another game entirely. If you are a JRPG player who enjoys a good challenge, doesn’t mind that this game will NOT hold your hand(you might get lost a few times like you would in the JRPGs of old), and isn’t afraid to do a little grinding, I can’t recommend this game enough.
Filled with hours upon hours of gameplay and a deep and interesting story, this is a prime example why the Nintendo will always hold the handheld market. Creating and befriending different demons to improve their abilities to fight alongside you is addicting and the exploration is fun.
an awesome game
I was so surprised to receive a box edition which comes with a strategy and design book and a music cd in edition to the game. It is more than I’ve expected, and I can’t wait to play the game.
Brand new, excellent game and shop!
I’m more than 50 hours into this game and still not finished. I love it! It does start out pretty challenging as other reviewers have noted, but stick with it. The story keeps twisting, and battles really never get old with a constantly changing set of demons and skills. Atlus has outdone themselves.
Shin Megami Tensei 4 is not bad
Packaging issues of the box being crushed aside, the game salvaged from that ruin has been what I have come to expect from the SMT series. Tough gameplay, interesting setting, and polished to a near blinding sheen.
Good game
