Said compendium (the ability to resummon demons you’ve registered) and extra day are the only real reasons to get this over the original release, unless you really care about the handful of skills that they added or the voiced dialogue.
Fast delivery and highly recommended, thank you.
Amazing game for the desu fans out there. It isn’t that much different from the ds version, though, so a heads up for those who are looking for more add-ons in comparison to the first. The battle play is much faster and mimics that of devil survivor 2 in speed, so you will be spending less time on battles in this version as opposed to the first.
Love it
My first Shin Megami, and I got so much more out of this than I expected. Fun combat, deep complex RPG, branching story with actual real choices that effect what happens throughout the game. Yeah, I was blown away.
I love it. It’s story, music, characters, everything! This game peaks at so many things it’s hard to believe it came from Atlus themselves!
I bought this game about 2 months ago and thouroughly enjoyed it. The graphics are pretty good and the voice acting was awesome. It didn’t sound forced, it sounded like a “normal” conversation. For me this game was a big time killer, as it had me engrossed for hours on end. I liked the whole setup of the game. I found it to be fun and entertaining as well as satisfying. I liked fusing new demons, especially after I beat the game and removed the fusion level limit. This game was worth every penny I spent on it, as I willingly spent 50+ hours on it. In some situtlations you might have to grind levels, I rushed to fast in one part of the game and had to grind a little to beat a boss. Look out for as many useful skills as possible. There are multiple story endings, I have beaten 3 completely so far. I even bought the second one, if you are debating on whether you should get the original devil survivor, don’t. This remake is so much better, graphics wise and it has very nice voice acting.
This review is coming from a 32 year old woman who prefers simple side-scrollers like Mario. I usually don’t like RPG’s, but this game had such great reviews I decided to give it a try. Plus there were a limited number of 3DS games out there at the time and I wanted to expand my library.Firstly, you should know that this game barely utilizes the 3D function of the 3DS. It is only used in the opening scene and when you fuse demons. I found this very disappointing at first, but the sheer awesomeness of the game soon made me forget about the 3D.I don’t play video games much now that I’m an adult and don’t have a ton of free time, but this game has me ADDICTED! I haven’t been this addicted since Pokemon first came out. The story is fantastic and keeps you engaged, they teach you the controls gradually so it’s not too complicated to learn, and the demon auction and fusion keeps the ‘addictive collector’ in me satiated. The voice acting is terrific; usually you don’t get this much dialogue in a game. I like that you don’t have to read all of the dialogue if you don’t want to; just sit back and let the characters talk.I will say there is a learning curve as with most games. After having to re-start 2 times already, I’ve learned to save my progress multiple times just in case I make a stupid decision when fusing demons or bought the wrong demons or something. It’s a pain to start over after putting in 8 hours of gameplay. It can be easy to ‘paint yourself into a corner’ so.
I bought this on the basis of all the positive reviews here on retrolio and I have not been disappointed with the game thus far, save for being able to redo or distribute skill points for your main character as well as the accompanying AI party members. This would give you ultimate customization over the whole entire party. There is an instruction manual included in this game, but it does not seem too necessary since the game itself gives you a tutorial to begin with and other information is easily given throughout the story line. The 3DS version of this game has been refined from its original version with the regular DS. You are given an ‘8th’ day instead of ‘7’. There are more finer points to the 3DS version, but I haven’t played through all of it, and am on the ‘4th’ day as of this review.I am really enjoying the ‘make your own demon’ option as a main plot of the game has you taming demons for good deeds; blending existing demons in your inventory to make others that will enhance your party with their strength and heals. If you are comfortable with most traditional rpg games (pen, paper, and dice) or even World of Warcraft, putting points into your main character should be familiar–ST for strength, MA for magic, VI for Vitality, and AG for agility. Each of these has importance for the different styles of play you desire. For example, if you want to have a ‘warrior/tank’ class without the use of magic, put your points into Strength, Vitality(life or hit points), and Agility(for.
5 stars if you are a fan of Shin Megami Tensei games.
