It’s my childhood all over again. I wish Sega would make a proper sequel to this game that preserved the gameplay elements that made this game perfect.
Excellent
This definitely brings back memory’s and it’s Old SCHOOL
One of my favorites! Great old school game! The sound tracks and game play is freaking sweet!
Used to play this years ago. Still fun even with all the high tech now. And unbelievably hard for such an old game. This is a great game for your old classics collection.
This game can be extremely fun and very addictive. My only problem with it is that hit detection is a little iffy. I’ve been killed by enemies who never actually touched me. This in turn can cause some frustration, rage quitting, and put you in a bad mood.
Shadow Dancer: The Secret Of Shinobi is the least discussed of the three Shinobi video games on Sega Genesis. Revenge of Shinobi is regarded as the most challenging of the Shinobi games while Shinobi III: Return Of The Ninja Master is the most polished of the series. So where does Shadow Dancer fit in? It’s tough to explain, but much like comparing Streets of Rage 2 to Streets of Rage 1, Shadow Dancer has that perfect Genesis pop-in-for-a-quick-play appeal. When I’m in a Genesis mood, Shadow Dancer is the Shinobi game I usually prefer because it requires the least investment of time. If I am in the mood to be completely immersed in a lengthy ninja video game, Revenge of Shinobi or Shinobi III scratches the itch…but for a quick ninja video game late at night, Shadow Dancer: Secret of Shinobi is perfect. The challenge is definitely there, but still very fair to the gamer. Shinobi has unlimited shurikens (although they look like throwing stars instead of the traditional shinobi throwing daggers) and a dog (I believe named Yamato). Also, Shinobi has a ninjitsu power to clear the enemies off the screen or do some damage to a boss. There are 5 rounds, each round has 2 short stages and a boss battle. In the short stages, Shinobi must defeat the enemies and free the hostages before proceeding to the exit. There is also a time limit, usually between 2-3 minutes. The enemies come in a handful of varities…there are ninjas that will walk towards Shinobi, ninjas that will jump attack, pl.
A true Sega classic! This plays and feels more like a direct sequel to the original Shinobi and less like Revenge of Shinobi or Shinobi 3. It’s a unique entry into the series and with the extra gameplay mechanics of the dog it makes for a very interesting game. Sound, graphics and everything else is spot on.
Enjoyed playing this classic on my Sega Genesis. Satosfactory
