Many have wanted to compare this to Fifa 2002. I will give the true comparison that all you soccer game fans want to here. First in graphics Fifa wins. That is my opinion all though it is fairly arguable. Fifa has detailed player animations and realistic fields (the grass in my opinion is jaw dropping). Yet in soccer slam you will see bright cartoonish graphics. No, this is not aa bad thing it actually brings a nice fun tone to the game. Sound goes to Soccer slam in my opinion. Why the announcer is a weird cowboy guy who makes you laugh with his wild antics. The music is lacking but the players make up with it with their insults that leave you laughing to the point where it hurts. Fifa’s sound is also great. The thing i disliked was the monotonous announcers. The thing that was good was the in-game souns and soundtrack featuring songs by the guerriliz. In fun soccer slam wins. The players are original and cool. From a scottish boxer to an african medicine man. There are three players and a goalie per team. There are cool kicks and exiting passes. Yes, you can hit your opponent without being charged with a foul. Fifa too is fun but lacks character originality and a fast paced game. The final category is replay value. I believe Fifa has more replay value. In soccer slam once you have beaten the continental cup you feel like you are done. Soccer slam features 6 teams and 9 feilds. Fifa has countless teams, challenges, and goals. Which leaves you coming back for more. A few last.

An innovative twist, the game shows awesome character design, flashy particle effects, and a whole lot of fun. This Gamecube exclusive, three-on-three, no rules game of soccer should be fun for everyone when it’s released at the end of March.
A month before I bought Soccer Slam- i resolved to never buy a sports game again. I realized that all i did was play franchise mode seasons just so i could get to the next one- never realizing i wasnt having much fun in the process… Enter Soccer SLam. I was instantly convinced that the game had the ability to be more than just a sports game. I seem to enjoy each game i play- and the quest mode gives me more that just a trophy and a "lets do it again!" earning items adds depth to the game- AND the items you earn for one team in quest mode can actually harm you in the long run, because once you change teams- the computer controlled teams maintain those items in quest mode! the teams naturally get tougher as you get further in the game. I find the quest and tourney modes to be more fun than most people concede, but the multi-player is somehow even more fun. Two of my brothers and I played an entire 5 round tourney, and we never felt the sting of boredom- even in the games where two of us were just watching. The game is very much unlike FIFA, but its not meant to be the same game- and its a better game for it

Many people told me Fifa 2002 was the best soccer game available for the cube. I decided to try it out, eventhough i hated sports. The game was the same thing as all the other soccer games, boring, plain characters, simple stadiums, and plain teams from around the world. Then i heard of Soccer Slam, a game which you could kick, punch, or tackle your opponents. It sounded like a blast! I told my friends about it and they laughed and told me to grow up, that no soccer game could pass Fifa 2002.When it came out, i bought it. I started playing it and i was right, it was a blast. The teams were unique and had powers. The stadiums were amazing and unique too. The game was just perfect!I decided to call my friends over, so they could see how mistaken they were about it. They came in and saw it. The only word which my friends said was WOW. Sometimes i like to give my friends some of their own medicine, so i did. I didn’t let them play and told them: “As you can see, you should grow up, because Soccer Slam kicks Fifa’s [buttox]”. They were beging me to let them play, but i said, “Why should i? didn’t you told me i should grow up? And look at you, you are all crying and beging me to let you play a soccer game that is “not” better than Fifa”. They didn’t say a word and left. I loved this game as a kid and I love it just as much now. It’s a must have for all. Very kid friendly yet loads of fun not a soccer fan but this game brings me into the game.
This game has everything its fun to play, has unbeleivable graphics and he multiplayer couldn’t be better. I reccomend this for every one who has a gamecube. This is fun for soccer fns aswell as everyone else. This game gets an A+
When my brother first got this game I took one look at it and said why bother? It is just a simple game with weird moves and kung foo fighting punching soccer matches. But when I actually tried it I was sucked in with the powerups here and there, and the cool movies after each character scored. Which gets annoying after awhile especially when its my brothers characters dancing around after they catch up to me. But what I like about the most in this game is how tough it is. When I first started playing a game against my brother it was 6-2 me at the end of the first quarter. I had used the same manuver: dribble the ball up the middle and when I was in front of the net pass it to the guy at the side who would score for my team. But in the whole second half the strategy did not work because the goalie covered the SIDES! The game had learned from what I had done in the previous half! My brother did not learn because you can’t control your own goalie and my players on the sides of the nets were always open. I ended up losing to my brother 10-9 in the second half GRRRRRRRRRRRRR! SO keep this in mind and that the thin players usually score the most (beats me why). WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GETS GOING!
He’s driving up the sidelines, quickly traps the ball in his feet and jumps over the defender, sends the ball like a bullet over to his teammate, the player heads into a stadium spotlight, OH MY GOD is this guy casting for "The Matrix"? Anyway he’s doing flips in the air, he rears back to shoot, AND HE’S SUCKER-PUNCHED WHILE IN THE AIR! He goes down hard, with the other team in control of the ball, and goes on fire! He charges up the field and tackles some skinny guy that has sparks of electricity coming out his ears. A wrestler from Mexico gets control and shoots from midfield…HE SCORES!End Score: 16 El Fuego, 14 Electra.A normal "Sega Soccer Slam" match.If you didn’t get a clue from what you just read, this game is out of whack. In a good way. With six three-man one woman teams. Actually you can’t tell what the frigg the goalies are because they have heavy body armor on. As I said before, this is one messed (but cool) game. It provides with more fun then some bestselling games that I will not speak of or everyone on earth will be out to get me. This game is almost like NHL HITZ 20-02 because of the three player action. (The goalies can’t be controlled, but they’re good enough.) And to clear things up the guy that went on fire was really a skinny girl with strange hair. And fire is El Fuego’s natural power. Electra uses bolts of electicity. A team which its name escapes me has poison. Overall, this game is new and exciting.And1homerun’s Rating: A+Anyone.
