Just completed first rpg with this and while some folks are complaining that its limited and it is… if you are thinking the sophistication of current games..it has the capability of helping the creator to tell a dynamite story complete with action and humor and anything else that can be woven into the plot..the key to it all is having a story line to begin with..a beginning a middle and an end..hopefully a satisfying ending..:)There are plenty of internet resources for displaying your work by using a Dex Drive game save utility and also you can get some excellent walk through guides by starting at gamefaq.com..other sites devoted to RPG Maker on the internet have plenty of boards where you can find the answers to all your questions.Like any project ..have a little patience and go one step at a time until you become familiar with the mechanics of building your towns/dungeons/world map and getting all of your characters and battles to work correctly..you can be as simple or as complicated as you wish your game to be..by using the switches and page conditions or just straight on through from point to point..enjoy!
This is probably the best creation game ever made. Very confusing, though. People say this is not for kids, but I figured this out when I was eleven. The worst part is setting events, like if you talk to someone and they give you an item. You don’t want them to give you the item again, so how do you cancel that out? It took me weeks to figure out, and I accidentally deleted my game! But you can learn this game by starting out small, say two bosses. But this is SUCH A GREAT GAME!!! Can be very frustrating, because you can very easily delete your whole game. Also the SWITCH technique is so incredibly confusing it makes you get a headache. But if you can get someone to play you’re game, that is the coolest thing. I have a series of games now called END OF THE WORLD. You should get this game at all costs if you like any RPG.

What can be better than building your very own RPG. This game has it all-scenarios,character graphics, an anime maker(real cool),tons of musical scores, and even a built in RPG called Gobi’s something…I played the import version at my friends house and if the U.S. version is half as good, I’m gonna buy it.
This game has many excellent qualities. There are many options that allow you to create your very own game, including dialogue, character interactions, and cost. One hard aspect is that you have control of using only 500 switches (on, or off). This is what controls your character not going to far in the beginning, or not being able to buy a strong weapon from the start.Also in order to track your story and characters, and dungeons, and where they go, you might want to write it down. I have spent 345 hours in creation, and have a playable 50 hour game. I have even made movie style credits in the beginning of the game to give credit to all my inspiration. This is a really good game, and I can’t wait for RPG Maker 2.

RPG Maker is one of the greatest games ever thought of and created. This game is for the patient and imaginitive people. This game has every aspect of all RPG Games. You have total control of the game. You can create the stroyline, You can create the characters and there stats, you can create you own monsters and there stats. You have total control over EVERYTHING. I personally bought this game and loved it. I have already made a game. It is pretty cool. This game takes a lot of patience. Don’t expect to be sucsessful right away. Buy this game if you think what you have to make a kool RPG game. This is also for those RPG Fanatics. BUY! BUY! BUY! BUY! IT IS SO WORTH IT!!! :)

Great buy, my husband loves this game. if you are into RPG you will LOVE I mean LOVE this game.
I picked this game up from my local hobby shop because I was bored.Its pretty much what the title says, you can make your own RPGs.It easy to use once you get used to it and you can make some nice looking RPGs once you get used to the way it works.It comes witha sample game to show you how a game should work(or will).Overall though it can become a little frustrating creating some maps.Theres a large selection of tiles that dont seem to be arranged in any particular order, you’ll save yourself alot of time if you can find one of them PS1 mouses. I also recomend picking a keyboard, unless of course you like typing everything out by on screen keyboard.The game dosnt have a whole lot of premade stuff, enough to make a short RPG, but if you going for a 10+ hour one then no.So luckly they gave you an ANIME creator, which let you create you own charcters and monsets(also tedious without a mouse). OF course if your like me you’ll be a poor drawer and make some odd looking things.Overall it not to bad, but if you have a PS2, and $20 I recomend to buy RPG Maker 2, it has 3D graphics and more in-depth editing. But w/e, it your choice.4 out of 5
