It secure the Kinect on the top, and is fully adjustable to very thin TVs. Just what we wanted. Yes, it is plastic, but what do you want for the price?
The clip mount is stable, I’ve mount it the 32" TV and it firmly took its place, easy, flexible, strong material and very light weight.If you want to have your Kinect Sensor to be mounted on any LCD or LED TV, go for this one, the price is good and the shipping time was good as well.
Okay. Some of the reviews that I read about this item describe a problem with not being able to attach it properly to the Kinect. I found this to be true; however, I removed the foam rubber base from the bottom of the kinect that serves as an anti-skid surface and found that the kinect snaps perfectly secure to this tv clip. Since I’m clipping it to the top of my tv, I do not need the anti-skid foam-rubber piece.
Just wanted to add my two cents in- After reading others reviews, I figured it was worth the chance for less than $4 to see if this would work for us. Our sensor couldn’t pick up my 1 and 4 yr olds with it being positioned on the tv table down low. One reviewer stated something to the effect of "for the price, I expected a cheap knock-off version, but I got the real deal- metal, sturdy…" etc. I will say mine is lightweight plastic- BUT i’m not upset with that- for the price I paid, it’s what I expected. I guess the other guy got lucky. :) Also, there were several who said the kinect sensor would not "click" into this mount as it is supposed to. One suggested removing the "no skid" padding and then it worked. I did NOT find this to be an issue. Straight out of the package, my sensor "clicked" in just as it is supposed to. I’m thrilled with this purchase! My sensor now is happily on top of the tv, and both little kiddos are "seen" and can play/dance together. The only reason I didn’t give a full 5 stars is because it is slightly lightweight- it doesn’t seem to "hold" it’s position perfectly- but again, for less than $4, I’m okay with that… I would absolutely recommend this product to anyone!
The Xbox-360 Kinect snapped in and securely attached to this mount clip with no problem. I have a problem with this on my TV though: The front of the bezel on my Sharp TV is sort of “beveled” so that the front part of the mounting clip only contacts about 1/8th of an inch of the front of the TV, and only about 1/8th inch on the top — It is unstable. I intend to invent some way to attach the mount to the TV. Possibly using Velcro and a triangular scrap of wood… or something. If not, I can’t use it. I placed the mount on my old “Touch of Class” Samsung TV and it would work splendidly there. Unfortunately, that is not the TV I intend to use for the Kinect.
Received it quickly and in great condition. Easy install and actually increased how well our Kinect works. We have a small living room so we were having trouble calibrating, especially with my son. No problems now!
When I actually pulled this thing out the box, I was surprised at how cheap it felt in my hands. I was almost afraid as it if would break when I was adjusting it to my TV. It worked as expected and the side clips that clip right into the base of the Kinect was a nice touch to keep it from falling off. As in some other reviews, the back support arm did not seem to grip to the back of the TV very well. The part that touches the TV is simple plastic. No rubberized gripping at all. I thought that was strange for a "holder" and this is why I am giving this review only 4 stars. I ended up putting some self-adhesive rubber bumpers on it so that there would be more friction to hold the thing in place. Decent device for the price.
This works best with a TV that is mounted flat and not pitched forward/ leaning at a down angle. Also best to zip tie the cable of the Kinect to the frame of the TV mounting bracket as to protect the Kinect just incase it falls. This product works on a principle of gravity and balance with a little grip. Looks real nice on my TV, but now I feel like my Xbox is watching me all the time. Have fun.
We have a 55" curved Samsung tv, and I was not sure if it would work with the curve. Turns out it works just fine! I like that there’s no adhesive you have to use…it just clips on. We’ve had it for six months now, and haven’t had to adjust it or worry about it falling off.
We have been using this for a few months now and love it. It’s simple, but works great. If you have a Kinect, this is a great way to mount it to your TV. We’ve had to adjust it (the Kinect) a few times, but we also have short kids playing games with tall adults. No fault of the product itself.
