The Romance of the Three Kingdoms series has been a rare gem in the gaming industry which unfortunately does not receive the credit it truly deserves. The replay value associated with the Romance of the Three Kingdoms Series, in particularly 7, is absolutely amazing. It brings to life a period of war, honor, and remarkable historical figures which culminates into a unique gaming experience. In the present gaming industry there resides the growing trend of seemingly pop-like videogames which seek to live off the glory of the past and cash in on the latest craze. Consequently, such video games fail to create a unique product for the consumer and sufficient replay value to entertain an intellectual gamer for more than a few weeks. This is the current travesty which we must endure yet games like Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 provide a ray of hope and ingenuity amongst the darkness of mediocrity and “pop”. Thus, I highly recommend Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 and I believe it will live up to my expectations of being a great and unique game!!!!!!!

The game arrived ahead of schedule and in perfect condition. My brother and I enjoyed playing it and will continue to do so
Romance of the Three Kingdoms 8 is an excellent game. Like ROTK7, you can play any character in the game rather than just the ruler. The game follows the magic of the book, which heros that have herculean strength and some even have magical abilities. Significant characters from the previous games have had their abilities changed to better reflect the book which the game is based. For example, Cao Cao have great Charm, Political wisdom and intelligence, but him war experience is somewhat average, reflecting the fact that he was more of a strategist than a front line soldier.I only had a few problems with the game. Titles, which officers could be given as the ruler’s rank increased in ROTK7 have been removed. I liked being able to give my officers different titles. Also, I think there should be more intrigue in the game. Hardly any officers rebel against their rulers and start their own kingdom, only happening when the ruler dies and even that is rare.Overall, this game is excellent and well worth the time of playing it. If you like Koei style strategy games, you will love this game.
This is my first time playing a rotk game but I have played the DW games by Koie and i loved them so I decided to try out this game to see if it was all it was cracked up to be. And I have never been so pleased with a strategy game. Ther is very little repetition between playes, u can be vertuly any general u want from the age of the "Three Kingdoms" period, and well..this game is great. if u like strategy games , or u just like the Three Kingdoms era get this game it’s well worth it.
Love playing rotk
Disk is scratched all to hell but it’s an amazing and rare game so I don’t care all that much, it still plays and that’s all that matters
ROTK 8 allows you to play as anyone you want, in any role. It’s very refreshing. To me, the most fun is had starting as a free agent and picking your liege, then working your way from being an unknown to your leader’s right hand.Developing your character is also very satisfying. Unlike other ROTK games, you only have so many points to spend in character development, so you can’t just make a perfect god like character from the beginning. You have to train yourself and figure out how to learn new abilities as you play, building your character from a novice in your craft (be it war or political intrigue) to a master.Another rewarding aspect of the game is that if you make multiple characters, they will become NPC’s if you don’t use them. My first character was a master of War (obviously names Chuck Norris), and I had a great campaign playing as him. Months later I played through as a diplomat, and lo, here comes Chuck Norris working for Cao Cao to wipe my kingdom out!I can’t stress enough how great this game is if you like games that focus on both tactics and strategy. Personally I still think ROTK8 is at the head of the genre.
Some people play Halo. Some people play Counter-Strike. If you’re a strategy fan, you’re now playing Romance of the 3 Kingdoms 8. Released on August 12, 2003, Koei added a new title to their longest-running series. If you’re familiar with, and enjoyed, previous titles in the Ro3K series, 8 is a perfect choice for you. If you’re into games with fast paced action, walk right by. Fans of PC-style strategy games like Civilization and Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri will be right at home with Ro3K8.The game is very, very deep with tons of replay value. If you’re an armchair general, get this game.
This game could be the best strategy game I have ever played. There is a lot of in-depth political strategies that only get more complicated the higher up the food chain your characters get. I’m guessing that if you looked this game up that you know at least a bit about the series, and that this is the best of the series, though I am yet to play Romance 9. I highly suggest picking it up if you get the chance, and if you really, REALLY like political strategy games.
