This is a fun game, with many similarities to the Final Fantasy series. Multiple carachters, storyline with optional sidequests, and many ways to level up your characters that will make them different than other players’ characters, based on your playng style and strengths. Overall, a highly enjoyable game!
Good
Rogue Galaxy is about a young boy named Jaster who embarks on a journey with space pirates and along the way, he discovers his true past. The game’s combat is pretty good kind of like active time battle but it is not exactly active time battle. The story is presented well. Rogue Galaxy is a great game overall.
great game i wud buy it so meany times over but only need one thank you fast shiping works well on my jailbreak high end ps2 i even 100% it witch took almost 5 mouths
There are more than a few “groaners” in dialog and stretched narrative points – they mention the Star King enough times that you’d wish they’d all shut up. Still, Level 5 is known for developing slightly campy games and if you’re willing to give some slack then the experience will be rewarding.Story: 7/10Art style uses a cell-shaded look that I think worked very well, not too gaudy and not too bland, with most of the characters and environments leaning more towards realism than the exotic. Granted, there’s more than a little repetition, particularly in Zerard Prison (where you’re likely to get lost more than once), but abilities are suitably flashy and the humor is well played. People familiar with Dynasty Warriors will note a…remarkable resemblance of Zegram to Xiahou Dun.Graphics: 8/10There’s no internal control of volume leveling, and some people may not like the occasional corny line, though things are played straight more often that Level 5’s Dark Cloud games. Ray guns sound suitable and blades clang acceptably.Sound: 7.5/10The music in both of Level 5’s Dark Cloud games sounded to me like midi not far from the Super Nintendo. Fortunately, there must have been changes in staffing because I found the soundtrack pleasant. A little repetitive, especially if you grind a lot, but most areas have relatively unique music and it always seems to fit the scene.Music: 7.5/10Level 5 is known for delivering quality action-adventure games, and they certainly deliver yet again. Weapo.
This is a good game for old-fashioned dungeon crawler fans. Though the battle system could use a little tweak here and there, it is, overall an exciting and somewhat challenging piece to play.
This is probably my favorite all time RPG. The CG was freaking beast, the gameplay tough but rewarding, and the story was just fantastic. The voice actors from alot of my favorite shows or other media comprised to make my party shine and there are few if any glitches that make the game irritating or slows the FPS. The only real downsides I can really throw out there is that there’s no new game plus, the best weapon in the game can only be gotten after it’s done, you can’t redo the final fight, and the game sometimes forces you to play as someone you have probably never used before (Which means you NEED to invest in every character equally). Aside from these few setbacks that never came to be this is still a hard fought 45ish+ campaign (I suck but I like leveling anyway) with multiple hours of side missions and fun ranks to go through. This is without a doubt one of Level 5’s greatest works and I would recommend this to new or old RPG players. BUY THIS GAME NOW AND LEARN THE AWSOMENESS!!!
The Playstation 2 has tons of RPGs. When a new one marches forth most RPGers can usually say “Yep” or “Nope.” Rogue Galaxy is definitely a “Yep.” It’s easy to grasp, yet difficult to master. It’s shorthanded in some key areas which keep it from being perfect, but it’s still one of the best RPGs to come around in a while.Rogue Galaxy follows the story of Jaster. Jaster dreams of exploring the galaxy someday. He more than gets his chance after having a run in with a Bounty Hunter, and then being mistaken for said bounty hunter. In all honesty, Rogue Galaxy doesn’t have a great storyline. It’s certainly not horrible, but it’s standard. It’s also full of predictable plot points, and it actually lacks a little in the character development. These two aspects of any RPG are crucial. Whether you want to accept it or not, story and character development are important, and Rogue Galaxy lacks both. It’s sad because you’ll meet a lot of characters who are interesting. The problem is that you just don’t learn enough about them.Luckily, the game is saved by the sheer fun factor that comes with the battle system. Unlike other RPGs, Rogue Galaxy doesn’t have you running around and then there’s a transition into a random battle. Rather, enemies just pop up and you take a battle stance right in the area you’re exploring. It’s very similar to Kingdom Hearts in that regard. When in battle you’ll be able to jump around, slash as your enemies and switch between primary and seconda.
My little brother and I have been looking for this game for years, and we absolutely love it. I suggest it for any RPG lover.
I really liked this game, honestly At first I wasn’t blown away and theytutor you immediately as to the stying’s of this game, the fighting is sorta like final fantasy dierge of cerbus.its sword&gun, etc. it’s not window prompts! very unusual and i like that. the over all feel of the gameis closest to chrono cross(many characters, varients, etc look design..feel)along with a music score close to what you might hear in xenosaga. Its one of the few games that have ever surprized me and kept me intrested to keep playing it for more that just a day, in fact i actually needed a break! the language is mild so its okay for 13 and up, and the actions not gory. Over all I think this game fell through the cracks, its something I hadn’t heard ofand it was honestly on clearance at my job and I took a chance thinking “wow, you know its only a couple of dollars”if i didn’t like it I wouldn’t be too bummed. This game if you buy it, play it whatever…you’ll see what I am talking about that people put alot into this game and I can’t believe it didn’t get huge hype. lastly, its gotvoice acting which actually isn’t bad…the further along and this is the only con i thought…the acting gets a little mellow dramatic.
