Quite simply one of the greatest games ever made. Brilliant story. Excellent gameplay. Easy to pick up. Would recommend to quite literally anyone.
G.o.t.Y. edition comes with all the downloadable content. This is a western styled game. Unlike the first one this one lets you go almost anywhere you want to go, but some areas are locked out for story line reasons. There are several online game play modes and they even added a zombie mode for those Resident Evil fans out there, This game gets a 4.7 out of 5.
Great DLC
This game was purchased as a gift, which was a BAD idea. Everyone has had so much fun, it kinda gets passed around. Ended up having a few people ask where I bought it so they could get their own copy! Includes Undead Nightmare, so even after finishing the main storyline, you have even MORE to kill and pillage. All in all, it’s a cheap, fun game, and definitely worth the price!
I bought this game on sale cheap. I feel it was a great buy since it’s funner than I thought it’d be. I don’t play many games, and only play during the winter due to being a grown up with a full time job.So, I like this game in that it’s not so fast pace like some other games out there. You can choose to follow the good life and work around the ranch shooting varmits, learning to ride a horse, roping/herding cattle, and taking care of business with bad fellows. Then after you earn some money from that stuff and hunting game on the range you can buy a pad in town. From there take a job as the bounty hunter you are by yourself or helping the local sheriff. Buying weapons didn’t seem to help any. The side arm and rifle seam to be suitable.I still have a lot to play so I’m sure there’s lots I,m missing, Oh and you can sit and play Texas hold em with the guys to make some money too. In the end you’re trying to get revenge on your old gang’s leader for trying to kill you, leaving you for dead, from the beginning of the game. If you accidently shoot a good guy, a bounty is placed on you and every one comes after you, you can shoot your way out of it and sometimes pay off the fine if your crime wasn’t too bad or continue to be an outlaw, your choice.
I purchased this game as christmas gift for myself. It was on sale around black friday and at a nice discount. The game is hard to put down, my problem is that it is set up to attract individuals who like goals and completion percentages. Rockstar has a nice setup which allows you to keep track of how much you have completed and where you stand in the game. The missions and map are time consuming and allow for all types of different gameplays. The game is similar to GTA and allows for free roaming and freedom to be who and what you want your character to be. The game of the year addition comes with Undead Nightmare, which is similar to red dead redemption, but with a twist that everything is zombie apocalypse style.I would highly recommend this game to anyone who loves GTA, and anyone who is looking for a new game to get into. The controls are very easy and just about anyone could play. The game also features online gameplay which takes a little bit of time to figure out, but can give a great opportunity for friends to play together.
16yr son loves this game.
Red Dead Redemption is one of the finest games I have played to date. It grabs you and doesn’t let go, I found myself playing for hours and hours on end, despite having a full time job and a life outside of video games. The Good: Red Dead Redemption has so many good points, it is hard to list them all, so I will only give a few examples. First is the initial setting and your first time in the world of the Western Border States. Stepping foot into such a richly rendered world is breathtaking! The townsfolk are realistic, walking and talking with each other, having conversations and the like. Beautiful sunsets, weather effects and scenery, as well as wild animals, random encounters and wide open plains, all add to the new world you have been transported to. The gameplay is great, with plenty of action and adventure to keep anyone interested for a long time. There’s just so much to do, you feel lost. But in the best way.The Bad: Only a few things, so this will be brief. The game had a few glitches, but that is only natural for a game this size. The Undead Nightmare DLC was too easy, but still an insane amount of fun, trust me.The Ugly (You knew it was coming. lol): Nothing in this game is ugly! From the wildlife to the struggling western towns, to the storyline and the variety of weapons, it is a brand new world ready for exploration. On a side note, without spoiling anything, the ending in Redemption is a huge surprise, and one I did not personally enjoy. Though it is poetic in.
I’ll throw it out there.. I DO NOT really enjoy the GTA series. Sure, they are fun to hop around in and wreak havoc on the cities, but really.. just not my bag. I want a little bit more action and adventure and a little less turning a mirror on society. Just not my thing..So, I was REALLY skeptical about liking Red Dead Redemption. Sand-box style questing just wasn’t for me I thought..I could not have been more wrong! The gameplay is excellent, with some intense fire-fights, cool "dead-eye" feature and fluid controls once you get the hang of them. I was expecting GTA on a horse, and while there are noticeable similarities, they really went out of their way to make this feel different and like it’s own world.Game is beautiful, even though I’m playing it in now 4 years after release, I’m still impressed by the level of detail considering it’s age. This goes into cut-scenes which are really well done, have great voice acting and draw you into the story. The expansiveness of the environment, dangers in the wilderness, side quest, etc. are all very very cool and even mostly through the game like I am now, I didn’t ever find anything to be TOO repetitive.Even the mini-games are pretty cool…I’ve spent a couple of hours just sitting there playing texas hold’em or Five Finger Filet and even the dice game. Sounds odd to play on the console, but it helps you in game if you’re good enough and even has some little things you can do in the game that will make it feel more like a.
