excellent
thanks
After the fiasco that they called Pac-Man for the 2600 dust settled, I personally was wanting more for my 2600 in the legacy that was called Pac-Man. Pac-Man was a dismal failure for the Atari 2600 and didn’t resemble the arcade version at all. However, shortly thereafter, Atari got it right and made Ms. Pac-Man for the 2600 in a very faithful version.I was personally amazazed at this game when I got my hands on it. It was a great translation, with different mazes, moving fruit, and the sounds effects that were close to what the arcade version had to offer. The graphics? Impressive for the time, although the cut scenes were still absent, and understandably so.Another amazing thing? The flicker was barely noticeable! The ghosts were crisp and clean, and Ms. Pac-Man actually LOOKED like Ms. Pac-Man! For the collector, you should (as said in my other 2600 reviews) get a loose cart for playing, and a boxed set for your collection.Bottom line, Ms. Pac-Man is a worthy addition to anyone’s Atari 2600 collection and well worth playing if you love all things Pac!
Works great and have no problems with it at all, received it in a timely fashion. Very fun game I would recommend it to every one who has or is thinking about getting an atari 2600. I have no regrets about purchasing this game at all.
A classic. To go without this is to be a fool. Don’t get me wrong: it’s not the arcade version, but it’s definitely worth adding to your collection. If you have to choose between this and Pac-Man, choose the lady, brother!
nice game,thank you!!!
Très bon jeu
Pac-Man for the Atari was criticized due to flickering ghosts and different graphics, sounds, and maze design. Ms. Pac-Man on the Atari, however, was more faithful to its arcade origin. The sounds, graphics, and gameplay were all identical, despite some parts of maze designs altered to fit in the Atari.
I won’t lie the Atari 2600 version of Pac-Man stunk and was virtually unplayable because the ghosts kept flickering. But in Ms. Pac-Man, all those problems were eliminated, the ghosts have a very minor flickering but it won’t pose any problem whatsoever. This is the Pac-Man game gamers have been waiting for to arrive on home consoles. The graphics are really good, the layout of the level changes after each level, the music at the beginning is similiar (yet a bit more pixelated) to the arcade version, and the game is actually playable. I would definitely rank Pac-Man for ATari 2600 one out of five stars, but Ms. Pac-Man is completely playable and very fun. Obviously nowhere near as good as the arcade version, but it was the best option gamers had because most gamers couldn’t afford to buy a big arcade machine. Overall, great classic and a million times better than Pac-Man for the 2600.
