Good game
Without doubt "Up Your Arsenal" is the *best* in the series, but "A Crack in Time" has good additions. I like the games Clank has to play to save planets (sort of a more advanced version of the lock picking games from the past games) and the Clank time puzzles. I like Ratchet’s new hover boots.

The entire Ratchet & Clank video game franchise is great and this game is no exception; well worth the money!
Needs more Clank
This game has all the fun stuff all the other ratchet and clank games have, and it has very stunning graphics! I love the times when there are enemies coming from every direction and your just shooting everywhere and it is total chaos!! The gameplay is very smooth and the levels are nicely designed. And of course there are plenty of funny lines throughout the game.There are about 10 levels, not much for a Ratchet and Clank game, but each level lasts longer so the amount of time to beat the game is about the same as other R&C games.Also when you play as Clank you have to do these Time based levels. They are interesting and a change of pace… but sometimes I found myself having fun shooting away and then suddenly I was doing some pointless time minigame.So why did I give this game a 4 out of 5? Because of the poor quality and lack of weapons. There were a few useful weapons like a rocket launcher, spinning disk blades, the Ryno V, and a disco ball that makes all the enemies dance. But there are only 17 weapons which are either useless or weak. I found myself fighting bosses with two or three weapons and struggling when my ammo ran out. But it seemed like the Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal had more guns AND more of them were useful!
This game is also known as Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time in Europe and Ratchet and Clank Future 2 in Japan.At the end of the credits for Quest for Booty, a message reading: "The Quest Continues Fall 2009" is shown. This indicated the planned release date for the next installment of the series. Ratchet continues his search for Clank, Dr. Nefarious returns as an antagonist (primary or otherwise), and the game goes into more depth about what happened to the Lombaxes.The story and player’s perspective alternates between Ratchet and Clank; Clank’s side of the story involves him fixing time at the Great Clock, as well as learning to fulfill his destined role as the Great Clock’s senior caretaker. Clank also learns that a Zoni named Orvus had created his soul. Ratchet’s part in the story includes meeting another Lombax named General Alister Azimuth, an elder who turns out to be unintentionally responsible for their kind’s downfall as he allowed Tachyon to use the Lombaxes’ technology, and is intent on taking control of the Great Clock to rectify his mistakes. Qwark also assists Ratchet during the storyline and eventually goes alone to gather useful information for Ratchet.
This game returns more to its roots more than Tools of Destruction. It’s more fun to play, has better humor and the weapons are better. It still lacks the fun of the original game and it is starting the descent into the cartoonish action that would follow in Full Frontal Assault that I didn’t care for. It does tell a good story and sets up some possible future story lines.

I always wait a while and get these games discounted. But Insomniac delivers yet again with a another fun platformer. This one is GREAT for the young kids and adults alike. Funny story and great gameplay that isn’t too violent. You can’t go wrong here if you’re looking for a gift for someone and have no idea what you are doing when it comes to video game purchases.
