My neighbor and I enjoy playing co-op split screen first person shooters. We played R6V1 and felt it was very entertaining in its tactical gameplay. R6V2 gave us more of the same. There are few split screen co-op games out there for the XBox 360 but this is one that I would recommend. Not as much fun as Gears of War or Halo 3 but better than some of the others (Army of Two, Kane & Lynch). If you are looking for this type of gameplay (two player, split screen), then I would recommend GoW first, then Halo 3, then the Rainbox Six series. You may want to put R6V1 between GoW and Halo 3, not because it’s a better game, but to mix it up a bit and not have two military FPS games in a row. There are several others coming in Nov 2008 (GoW 2, Saints Row 2), which should add to the fun.
Rainbow Six Vegas was, in my opinion, a fantastic game. It combined very slick gameplay with stunning graphics and an immersive story, and threw in nice touches like an epic soundtrack and a fun “terrorist hunt” mode. With this as a basis, Rainbow Six Vegas 2 should have been even better, but unfortunately it falls short of the mark. On the one hand, Ubisoft improved nearly every aspect of gameplay (I’ll get to that), but on the other, the game is just MISSING something. On the positive side, there are plenty of new touches that fix most of my gripes about the previous game. Melee is still missing, much to my annoyance (there are plenty of opportunities when it would be preferable), but you can now sprint in short bursts (handled in the standard CoD manner, but with the left bumper). I couldn’t honestly tell if pistol firing was as fast as your finger could pull (the old game had a very low firecap which was very irritating), but it seemed faster anyway. The graphics are impressively better; original Vegas had some great visuals, so seeing even more detail and lighting effects is a nice touch. There is an improved assortment of weapons, including the SR-25 sniper rifle, a favorite of mine ever since SOCOM: US Navy SEALs. Unfortunately, as before, you can only put one attachment on each weapon, so you’ll have to choose between things like “recoil stock to prevent ridiculous muzzle climb” and “sight/scope to get any remotely useful benefit from LMG at ranges greater than.
Great game
awesome game
I usually don’t buy tactical shooters because they are too complex, but R6V2 called my attention because of the co-op component. After playing the demo for the first game I decided to buy this one and have been pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is solid and the A.C.E.S. system is a good new addition. My only complain is that so far I’ve had the game slow down on me several times which causes a severe framerate drop and audio delay. This is frustrating since I die often as a result and to fix the problem I have to turn off my Xbox 360 to continue playing normally. Other than, that this is a great game and I highly recommended it.
More of the same as the first, but im not complaining
alls I gots to say about this game is that it’s VAGAS BABY VAGAS BABY! This shooter is a first purson shooter (and then but sometime its a 3th person shooter but well get to that l8r) and i dont even have to tell you that it take place in VAGAS BABY!!! (you know, like in the olden times there was this movie about these 2 boys, and one of them boys kep on sayin VAGAS BABY VAGAS BABY!!!!!!!!! and the other one then start to say VAGAS BABY too and now a days when you talk about vagas you have to say VAGAS BABY because it cool and fresh and dope and ill even though its like a 12 year old saying it don’t matter cuz everone who yells VAGAS BABY is totally cool and feels like a milion bucks because its a cool think to say) so that’s what this game is about.VAGAS BABY!!!!!This game is not like gaylo or Calls from Duty 4 or nothing else. You are a member of the Rainbow Bright. You can’t just run round in this game powning noobs and yellin out really smart comebacks like “you’re MOM!” (which is the coolest comeback ever totally cuz when you say it your talking about someone’s MOM DUDE!!!!!!!!!no in this game you gots to creepe real slow and get under some covers because the bad dudes are all shootin at you and they are good shoots too no fooling in only one shoot they will have shoot you dead. so be carful and go slowly and stay under the covers and u’ll be okay. The graffiks are top nodch in this game even the smokes look real and the bad guys look real and they even say SWEARS lik.
I’m going to be honest i’ve never played the rainbow six series and since all the reviews keep talking about how this game is still looking like the other ones before, i’m not going to sit here and tell you that you all are wrong so i’m just going to say what i think. For me this is the best game out there right now and no reviews that any one of you post it’s going to make change my mind, this game for me is a complete game there is nothing missing from single player and multiplayer even though i’m going to admit that i haven’t play it on-line but i think, i still think that is the best and specially if you are a splinter cell fan ”like i am”.
One of my favorite Rainbow games of all times is Vegas 2. This brings back the fondest of memories :)
Very good
