Puzznic is one of the best puzzle games on the NES that’s not part of the Eggerland series. This is an extremely fun but yet slightly challenging game that many have overlooked somehow. What many people don’t know is that Puzznic is actually two games in one! Puzznic and Gravnic. Here’s why you should pick this one up.1. Fun gameplay. This is probably the earliest example of a tile matching video game. What’s a tile matching game you ask? Think Candy Crush, Pokemon puzzle league, Tetris Attack, Mahjong, and many others. Basically in Puzznic your goal is to move blocks to other blocks that look like those blocks. It’s a very simple concept but is very addicting. In Gravnic you change the gravity field to move blocks to touch similar blocks. Again it is a very simple process. But this time the difficulty is a little more difficult.(Pun definitely intended) Puzznic is timed. Usually the time factor has no relevance in Puzznic. In Gravnic you are not timed. Good right! Wrong. You have a limited set of moves to complete the puzzle. That has relevance in most puzzles.2. A password system. Both Puzznic and Gravnic are long games for puzzle games. Like most games they get progressively harder. It is a good password system nothing to major.3. This game should have been called Gravnic. Because Gravnic is the better of the two. Also they should advertise that it’s two games in one! Also the manual stinks. It is literally a piece of paper. but it gets the job done I guess. It did come i.
Puzznic is an extremely challenging and addicting game. There are 160 puzzles in the main portion of the game, and the level of difficulty of these puzzles increases as you pregress through the game. Each puzzle involves a strategic placing aspect, timing aspect, or both. Passwords are given upon completion of each level so you can turn the game off, then continue playing from the spot you left off. Impressive graphics and storyline are virtually nonexistent, but this is definitely the most mentally challenging video game I have ever played. I highly recommend it!
