I haven’t played this game all the way through yet but I like it a lot! I love the fact that it’s a 2D scoller and the creativeness of presenting the game as a puppet show is captivating!About the physical packaging though, not impressed! It does not include an instruction manual! On the back side of the cover (what you see when the case is opened) there’s a picture of the controller and button mappings. Seems like companies are just getting really cheap with packaging and trying to push us to digital downloads.
Came quickly, plays fine. Recommended shop. My only pet peeve were the library stickers on the actual cover and not the case. But that can’t be helped and it was a good price.
This game has some of the more memorable art direction you are ever likely to come across. Undoubtably influenced by the art design in games by Tim Schafer (Grim Fandango, Pschonauts) and platforming in the Rayman Series, Puppeteer is a breath of fresh air in the platforming genre. There is really no game like it. The story is fantastical and theatrical (literally), as the sets change quickly like you were playing on a moving stage. Its dark in its thematic elements, and adds nice touches that remind you as a gamer, what your actions are on center stage. The audience “oohs” and “ahhs” during daring sequences, and after you complete staggering acts of courage, they cheer and applaud. Its funny how those little details go a long way in making this game just so damn memorable. It is fairly decent in length (12-16) hours depending on if you are collection-ist. If you are, its easily 20+ hours.If you enjoyed the unique experiences in games like Okami, Journey, or Psychonauts, or enjoy the platforming of a series like Rayman, you will probably love this game. I highly recommend it.It really is pure happiness in video game form.
In a world of killing games, it is such a joy to finally see something created that is artistic and fun, such a cute game, very fun and enjoyable for the whole family. Using the scissors to cut your way through areas is so creative also.
Amazing game, very charming. It was a game I could play with my kids were all of us were enjoying it and not just them (: Its sad its not getting the recognition it deserves. This kind of creativity in gaming should be supported and rewarded. Amazing game.
One of the best most fun games I have played in a long time! It’s creative and is challenging at all the right times but easy enough for the children to play at the same time.

This game is amazing! The sense of scale and escalation is more akin to a character action game like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry, not a simple 2D platformer. The level design is great and really lends itself well to the unique scissor mechanics. The visuals and presentation are really something else, taking on the looks of a puppet theater, but with a darker tone even if the content isn’t super risque or anything.This game is proof that even when you think a genre has exhausted all of its possibilities, something will come out of nowhere and make it fresh again.
Astonishing graphics and visual experience. This little platformer mascot will charm you in many ways. One of the best and underrated games this generation.
Great little platformer! The heads are more or less keys. But its simple fun and wildly imaginative. The art and voice work are top notch
