So there are plenty of people having issues with their Elite Series 2s. IĆ¢ā¬ā¢m not going to discount their claims but I will say that I have yet to have issues with mine in particular. The feel in your hand is amazing, the weight just feels right, and the functionality is amazing. I am still getting use to the paddles, so I do occasionally grip the controller too hard and hit one of the paddles, but thatĆ¢ā¬ā¢s a user error. I highly recommend going for this controller. If you donĆ¢ā¬ā¢t like it, you can return it, and if it has issues outside of those 30 days you still have the warranty.
Seeing as the first series yet again Microsoft really figured out a way to gouge uus for all money and an inferior product. Now with this one so far seems to be a thing of the future. For all of us who play and play the wear and tear is the single factor we look for. How well with this will it hold up. I don’t know yet but as for the initial couple days this thing is magnificent. It is special and a league of its own. Hope that I can say the same here in a moneth
IĆ¢ā¬ā¢ve had my Series 2 controller for about two months now. It came in perfect working condition and is still in perfect working condition. No signs of wear from use yet. It was a huge upgrade from the standard Xbox One controller. My accuracy and reaction times have increased dramatically simply because of switching to the Series 2.If you get sent a problematic controller then just send it back and get a new one. Repeat if necessary. The controller is well worth the hassle if you donĆ¢ā¬ā¢t get a perfect one right away. Stop being hesitant in buying one like I was. The poor quality reviews almost stopped me from having this wonderful device.
I honestly can’t say anything actually bad about this controller. It has tons of great features, it has plenty of options for various games, and it is very customizable and versatile. The only gripe I have is that with the way your left hand rests on the left grip with your thumb on the left joystick makes it a tiny bit awkward to press in the paddles, but I’m chalking that up to my very large hands and not the controller. A lot of people whine about the fact that there’s some play in the joysticks but it isn’t noticeable at all during gameplay and I can’t imagine it actually affecting someone as there really isn’t that much play at all. The battery life and charger are great, it was one of the sellibg points for me, and the case is really nice too. I don’t feel conflicted saying that this is the best controller for any gaming system. It’s highly presice, of excellent quality, and extremely practical.
I might’ve known this would happen, have sticky buttons right out of the box! This is like the meme that happened last time, so just be cautious. The controller itself is so nice, and you can see and feel all the changes Xbox has made, but at ~$190 this is kind of PepeHands :( Too bad… time to keep replacing till you get a good copy :)Update 2 (Apr-19-2020): Started having problems with LT, turns out there are pads on the triggers themselves to be more padded and to have softer bottom out and return, and the glue happened to leak out and stick, made the trigger feel scratchy and sticky at the very top of the travel. So if there’s ever something wrong with your elite triggers (since i haven’t seen these on regular controllers) check to see if there’s any adhesive leaking from the pads or anything on the PCB1EDIT: Support is the best, cleared up some warranty concerns that I had, went with the good ‘ol Q-Tip rubbing alcohol technique! Fixed it up right away! Shame I still had to do it, but it’s an easy DIY fix.
Good controller, only been using it for a couple weeks though. I did notice that the grips on the handle dont really grip my skin well so it still ends up slipping a bit. Inwish they were a little more tacky, especially when I’m playing for extended periods of time. Other than that, it’s a pretty good controller.
I had the previous gen elite controller. I loved it. Got the gen 2 and love it even more! Very responsive. I like how the paddles are shorter than the previous gen. Makes for quicker follow up pushes.
Soooooo, the controller is honestly GrEAT! the only issue they seem to be having is quality control. I got a controller that has a sticky A button. Other than that the way they designed it to be charged in the case is awesome. the options you have for customizing is insane for anyone that prefers controller / mouse&keys. I did receive a defective unit but I still think they did a great job with the design elements, functionality, feel, comfort, i just need them to send me one that isn’t sticky. I know I am eventually going to receive a unit that works perfectly out of box so I guess i don’t mind. lol
I had the original elite controller and it’s been great for a bunch of years now. A few weeks ago, the left hand rubber grip started separating from the the controller like so many others have complained about. There wasn’t anything else wrong with it- rechargeable battery was good for 15 hours or so, which is about a week for me, buttons and triggers worked great, no issues with the thumbsticks or accessories, but the grip was annoying. I heard this thing was coming out and tried to play with one at my local MS store. They were sold out and told me it would be two to three weeks before I could even put one in my hands. I saw that retrolio had them in stock and ready for one day shipping, so I just went ahead and did it.I was glad I did! The size and shape are nearly identical, but I really liked the new three-stage trigger stops and the adjustable tension thumbsticks. I also liked that instead of two profiles on a hard switch, I can now have four profiles (including the blank “default”) to switch through. It’s been more useful than I thought having those. Instead of just “shooter” and “racing” modes, I now have different setups for the type of shooter- 1st person needs faster throws than 3rd person, and I don’t have to go into the app between games to reload saved profiles. It’s great.I also really like the new charging stand. I don’t like that I can’t swap battery packs on the fly, but the 40 hour battery life makes it kind of a moot point. It’s compact and slick and I like t.
My A, B, X, Y were sticky, mostly from the sides & I disliked the noise it made. The input didn’t register randomly a few times but I think its fine now, it seems like it’s been working better after some heavy use, no more stickiness. I also recommend cleaning your controllers buttons with green cleaner from Trader Joes or something similar, it’ll help a bit, don’t spray directly on it though. The controller doesn’t reconnect to bluetooth after plugging it into pc, then unplugging it. It seems like a small thing until you’re in a game, you plug it in, play for awhile, unplug & completely lose connection to the PC, having to hit the windows button, blah blah blah to disconnect, reconnect it all over again. Its not a huge issue, just something to remember! The analog sticks look the same internally (I saw a disassembly video on YT) i’m nervous about those & the bumpers, etc. This controller does have HUGE improvements but my biggest concern is whether they cheaped out again on parts. My biggest disappointment was the bumpers & the analog sticks failing on my original Elite series 1. I bought two Elites, this is my third, technically my 1st Elite series 2, I will not be buying a 2nd Elite after this because we beta tested the first model, this was their 1 shot, i put a lot of effort into what i wanted to see changed in the 1st model, they definlity heard us as gamers, i feel like they did a good job! I don’t like the minor issues but I think it’s completely worth it at 180 bucks..
