Great bundle of games
Nice two games in one for cold weather stay in days.
My wife and I are bored and, having watched Grantchester on PBS, we decided to try to learn Backgammon. We bought this economical set to see if (a) we can learn the game, and (b) we like playing Backgammon. This is the perfect set for that, plus it offers chess and checkers. This allows us to decide without spending a lot of money. If we like Backgammon, we will buy a more expensive set. Again, this set is a perfect set for those who want to learn the game and play chess and/or checkers.
These old time games never get "old". There is so much fun in these games. My grandkids love it, I like it, did as a child and still enjoy playing this. Great especially for 3 year old. Every time my grandson made the bean bag in the hole, we’d clap and then he’d come over for his winning hug. So much fun, the kids really, really enjoy it. Most importantly it gets them away from those darn electronic held games. Promotes gamesmanship, conversation and competativeness
These are the best made pick up sticks I have seen. They are made of strong wood and very colorful. I use these with math facts, vocabulary, etc. Students answer a question before they have a chance to pick up a stick. At the end of the game, math skills are required to find each student’s score. This is the number one requested game in my first through fifth grade resource room. Very surprising with all the technology we offer.
The game comes with a card board platform and all the chess, checker, and backgammon pieces you need.
Well, since I only spent $5.90 guess I shouldn’t have expected much. It is very cheaply made. If you want a nice board skip this one!
Cheap that we bought to teach our kids chess. It does the job fine
The four fold square board is fairly thick, but doesn’t totally flatten out when opened. As the price suggests this is a very inexpensive set. After using it a couple times, and realizing it is a game the kids/family like to play I tacky glued the board to a piece of cardboard (from an retrolio shipping box ironically) and game play is great, the marbles don’t roll off anymore now that the board is flat. Only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that now I have to store the board separately from the marbles.
A fun game for when the grandkids visit. They always ask to play a game of pick up sticks when they come. I feel it builds dexterity, eye/hand coordination and concentration skills. I like the sturdy storage container it comes with. A hit all around, and I’m hoping it helps wean my grandson from his video game addiction!
