Trust me this time. This PES version on 2009 is way way better than the previous years. The gameplay is awesome, which will make you find it difficult to quit playing. There so many game modes (exhibition, champions league, master league, network, be a legend). The customization level is hight were you can import players looks, names, jerseys, boots, etc.The game have TWO negatives which are not a big deal (for me at least): 1) License: not all leagues appear with full license like jerseys, stadiums, players names. But this can be easily customized, imported, and/or updated. 2) Lagging play in online mode: you may experience some lag issues when playing with users not close to the your region. So the best deal is to choose whom to play with and everything will be just fine.I would really recommend this PES 2009 for all football fans (Soccer fans in the US). Do not miss it!
Best game in the history of football games on gaming systems. I love it, I love the become a legend.Buy it now, and forget about FIFA forever.
Honestly, I have not played Fifa 09, but I’ve been following the pes (or winning eleven) and fifa games since their existance. pes has always had the better edge than fifa and I continue to think that pes provides the better game. I’ve seen reviews that say that fifa 09 has become “the soccer game” to buy, this maybe so, but what I can say is that from past experiences fifa has focused more on graphics, having the greatest number of teams and players, and online capabilities than the actual gameplay.Going back to pes 09, I think it does improve on the issues from pes 08. The graphics are incredibly better and the movements of the players are even more realistic. The AI is amazing to the point that at times you feel like if you are actually seeing a real live soccer game. The ball in the air is a little floaty, and at first seems kind of annoying, but once you get the hang of it you see that it is all part of making the game seem more realistic. The speed is slower and dribbling is easier. I personally enjoy playing online or the master league. I find the becoming a legend option a little boring and difficult, but i’ve heard that people really enjoy it. Overall I would definitely recommend this game, but since I haven’t actually played fifa 09, I can’t really say if it is better or not. I would recommend renting them both to test them out before buying.
Fifa dooesn’t exist near PES 09. It is the best soccer game ever made. You must buy it.

What I have to say about this game is that it won’t stop getting better, version after version. Also known as Winning Eleven, PES 2009 is the best soccer game out there in my opinion. If you like graphics, choose FIFA 09 cause they have it all, but if you are a real soccer player looking for a real game play feel, PES (same game as the old Winning Eleven) is what you’re looking for!

Much better than the previous version. They improoved a lot of things that makes the game more atractive. But still there are several other things that should be considered for future games.
This is a very fun game. The only thing that I would do better is the music, and the narrators….songs are the same all the time, and the narrators are saying the same comments during the entire game. Graphics, sounds and effects are great!
