This is without a doubt the best pinball simulation for any platform so far!! I have some decent games for my pc that microsoft released a few years ago and Redoubt produced a great disk of some Williams classics such as “Creature From The Black Lagoon” that are very good also but these are much more fun to play. Get this game! You won’t be disappointed. Hopefully Crave will produce more of these great classics in the future!!
I couldn’t even guess at how many quarters I dropped in to Taxi, Whirlwind, Funhouse, and Pinbot. Maybe a few hundred dollars worth? Maybe a thousand? In any case, I spent enough time with those machines to know just about everything there was to learn. And apparently, so did the developers of this game. The sweet spots are all there, and the ball physics are surprisingly accurate for video pinball. My only real gripe (and I’m sure I’m in the minority here) is that you can’t get a really detailed view of the playing area. I’d really like to be able to look at these old tables in pristine condition once more.Beyond that, this is a great game for anyone who enjoyed playing pinball in the late 80’s / early 90’s. Sure, there’s no way you’re going to fully replicate the pinball experience, but this is probably the best video pinball I’ve ever played.
My wife and I play this on ps2 for HOURS on end. Of all the games I own, including high dollar shooters etc…..THIS game is more fun than my $50.00 games. This game is SPOT ON…..just like having the pinball machines right in my living room.
great
I love this game, it has provided many hours of entertainment. the graphics are great, seems realistic in the way the ball bounces around. I loved it so much I began looking for additional pinball games and even got a pinball app for my Kindle fire
Its fun But not like the real thing.. I miss pinball so much!! I used to play tons years and years ago! Before pacman.. Yes I am OLD.
Purchased this after seeing what it would cost to own "FunHouse" ($5,000+) and couldn’t be happier! Everything I remember about the game is here and ready to enjoy….I really hate Rudy and enjoy putting him to sleep, making him swallow the pinball, hitting him with it, listening to his endless banter, and love to hear him scream when you hit the trap door….ahhh, yes….!Plus, there are other pins in this collection to enjoy….my wife and I have play for hours and get a kick out of trying the other tables…the nice thing about this is that the games never break, the ball physics are very realistic and you get instructions on how to score for each game….well worth it!Only downside is that the graphics are a bit "edgy", but perhaps that is because of the time frame that this game came out, (I’m no programmer and maybe it’s my plasma tv setup needs to be properly configured)…but it’s a small inconvenience….the table graphics and everything else absolutely rocks….would highly recommend this game!
In heaven, cars would never need oil changes, the weather would always be balmy and great pinball machines would never have to be shopped out for costly repairs. Well, thanks to the folks at Crave the last one has been made possible for us here on earth. Their “Hall of Fame – the Williams Collection” is everything and more. All of the detail, sound bites and logistics have been painstakingly worked out to the finst detail.Of course the flagship is “Funhouse”, probably the best, craziest, over-the-top pinball machine ever. From Rudy’s quips, following eyes and advancing clock–it’s all here. And who can forget the classic “Whirlwind” (“the storm is approaching!!”)? And I almost fell over when I saw “Taxi”–a game that didn’t quite rise to the levels of popularity of, say, “Funhouse”, but still ate a lot of my quarters in its day. What’s not to love about a game that requires you pick up Dracula, Santa Claus, Pinbot and Mikhail Gorbachev? That’s Williams’ great, quirky style for ya…The other games are great, too. “Pinbot”, “Black Knight” and “Space Shuttle” all come with their mid-80s creepy Williams-esqe vocoder sound bits. And there’re the great classic classics, “Gorgar” and “Firepower”.The ball mechanics are fantastic and lovingly recreated for each machine. The player can change the first-person perspective on the tables to one of several presets, from up close and personal to the playing field to high above it. The illusion of the real games is high–many times during p.
Best pinball video game on the market! I love the accuracy of the pinball machines, excellent ball physics and the historical details are a nice touch. This is a must have for Pinball fans! FYI, the PSP version is equally awesome.
I remember the pinball machines lining the walls of the arcade. With a few exceptions, that’s all you used to find at the arcade. Then, they started getting crowded out by Pong, Death Race, Space Invaders, PacMan, and their many descendants. To keep up, pinball started innovating, and arguably no one was better at it than Williams. Here you have the first talking pinball machine (GORGAR), the first multi-level playing field (Black Knight), and the first modern multiball machine (Firepower). Williams continued to pull out all the stops to vie for customers’ quarters. Latter day machines like TAXI, Whirlwhind, and Fun House seemed to realize the dream of the ultimate Rube Goldberg machine, with more gimmicks than your eye can take in at once. The Williams Collection has done an awesome job of simulating all of these classic pinball machines. I’ve played each of these tables over the last twenty-odd years, and the authenticity of these recreations is breathtaking. From the obvious, like the gleaming steel of the ramps and flashing bonus lights, to nuances like the sound of the ball rolling across an open table, Crave has captured a lot of sensory detail. The “feel” of the game is the best I’ve ever seen in pinball simulations going back to the late 1980s. Gravity is realistic, table nudging is invited, and best of all, nothing _ever_ breaks. I give it five stars. Those not interested in pinball might not be as enthusiastic, but as a simulation, this is spot on. I would welcome an.
