Spaceman Olimar just crashed on a strange planet and he needs to find all his spacecraft’s parts. The problem? He only has a few days to do it! Luckily there are hundreds of Pikmins with special powers that he can use to battle enemies, but beware–watching giant predators gobble your Pikmin might make you angrier than you’d expect. Pikmin may be small and plantlike, but they can be a space traveler’s best friend.

It’s a short game. It’s not especially difficult. There is little in the way of action…..and it’s one of the greatest video games I’ve ever played.I bought it a long time ago, back when it came out, and it’s been the one game I return to over and over, constantly attempting to build my rocket ship and leave the planet in as short a time as possible. I’ve been so drawn to this hypnotic game, whereas I’ve barely finished the others I’ve played (including RESIDENT EVIL, the most remarkable looking/performing title yet, but comparatively boring). PIKMIN is so addictive, but in a quiet, unassuming way. It’s also really bizarre, disturbing almost, in the near-barren terrain of each world, in the over-size ladybug-like creatures who chow down on your little friends, even in the Pikmin themselves, who are simultaneously cute, pathetic, creepy, and altogether otherworldly. I’m praying for a more expansive sequel, one that truly expoits the potential hinted at in the original. Miyamoto is a genius beyond reproach.
This game was delivered 5 days ahead of schedule with speed I really appreciated. retrolio continues to impress me with its efficient, serendipitously ahead of schedule shipping service. The game stands out in my mind for its visuals, atmosphere, and story. The graphics are simple, crisp, and bright which makes seeing in-game enemies and resources simple. The game’s atmosphere envelops you with lush foliage and wondrous natural terrain everywhere. The lighting also adds so much to the environments. Sun filters through tree tops while glistening, rippling pond water splashes about your feet. The game is a magical experience in many ways. Many people complain about the short day length (15 minutes), but I feel the game is designed well enough to facilitate victory in face of the time crunch. Also the short days really add to the overall feel of the story. At times I felt nervous that Olimar might not make it, and others I raced and raced to secure a part before the sun dropped out of sight. Indeed, the game always had you doing something. But in all, the game is clever, has fluid controls (albeit sometimes frustrating when under pressure), and is very entertaining. It is a GameCube classic packed with nostalgia.
Came on time and product is exactly what was in the description.
I loved the nostalgia of playing it again! Brings me back to the good old days;) I would recommend it.
Charming is probably the best word to describe Pikmin, and not just because of the doe eyed title critters. The gameplay, a puzzle based real time strategy hybrid of sorts, is as unique as it is captivating with great controls outside of a small probble. Anyone can pick up Pikmin right away, but with time you realize just how many different ways you could play through it. It’s one of those games i often paused and just sat with, considering m next move. You really want to be careful because cute little items, or the tiny trumpet that sounds as they march, quickly trick you into loving the lil [critters]. So much viciously tearing it apart from all sides like a pack of crazed hyena, becomes a strangely proud moment. The nice variety of bad guys has a weakness to dis that, like Luigi’s Mansion, Pikmin ends right as it’s find all 30 pieces, plus there are tons of reasons for replay. But just as the complexity of the puzzles is reaching that sweet spot, where you see all the possibilities and the true beauty of this game, it’s over. A few more areas like the last level could have made this great game much better.
Over the years Shigeru Miyamoto has brought us many good and innovative games, from Mario to Zelda. But his newest creation may be his most creative and unique looking franchise as of yet. What is this new innovative and unique game? Why it’s Pikmin for the GameCube, of course. It was first shown off as a huge surprise at E3 2001 in May.The game(play) is a real time strategy game simplified more, which in ways makes the game much more fun, as it is not as complicated, and has a very small learning curve. In Pikmin you are a Spaceman (Capt. Olimar) who’s ship collides with an asteroid and forces you to land on a strange new planet. Here you’ll find the strange Pikmin, along with many other dangerous creatures looking to make a meal out of the little plant like Pikmin. The Pikmin are more then willing to help you in your quest to find the 30 missing parts to your spaceship, before you run out of oxygen in 30 days. But you will have to help the Pikmin with there problems as well. And boy do they have problems, it seems that the neighboring critters have developed at appetite for these little creatures. Well with some of them it’s not so much an appetite as it is just spitting boulders at them, smashing them, or drowning them. So as you can see you’ve got some work ahead. Fortunately when you kill these enemies little seeds appear in there place ranging in size, and with different numbers on them. The higher the number, the more seeds you get. Also, if the color of the seed is.
One pikmin, two pikmin, three pikmin,four!5 pikmin,6 pikmin,100 pikmin more!Looking for a game with strategy, action and little grass aliens……look no further then pikmin!I’ve seen many reviews on it’s boring, kid game look.Well most of them are high school students! They used to love games like this. Here are things that make it not kid like and boring:1.To hard!Going through day after day finding the space pieces and telling your pikmin what to do.No kids can do that easily2.Walk around and you see a bad creature! You think it’s a whoopdeedoo easy guy but let them watch the pikmin get eaten and die.Thats why.We mean for younger kids, but kids ages 8 and up can play it without being scared.Don’t mind that, pikmin is the greatest GC game ever,no questions asked!
Pikmin has got to be the wierdest game I have ever played. I love it! Only a true game master such as Shigeru Miyamoto could have possibly dreamed up a game as original and innovative as this. The main theme of the game for those of you who don’t know what its al about…Captin Olimar, a great space traveler, has crashed-landed on a strange planet after his ship collided with a meteor. After a prilimanary examination of his surroundings, he has looked over his beloved ship, The Dolphin(anyone recognize the code name for Gamecube?). He has discovered that his ship is missing 30 parts apon crash-landing, and if he ever wishes to return to Planet Hoctate where his wife and two children are, he must recover his lost parts. And to make matters worse, he has detected the poisinous gas oxegen in the planets atmosphere, and his life-support will be able to hold out for only 30 more days. Then as he is beginning to explore, he finds a strange plant that spouts a single seed upon his arrival. After a short time, the seed grows into a sprout that waves back and forth. Olimar aproches the sprout and picks it, only to find not a plant but a living creature! The creature, bearing a resemblance to a minature carrot on his planet called a Pikpik, simply stands there looking as Olimar, as if waiting for his orders. He decides he will call this strange species a Pikmin, and must enlist the help of more Pikmin to help him recover his missing ship parts. The game, while challenging but rewarding,.
Pikmin-The game where you control an alien named Olimar who has crashed his ship (the Dolphin) on a strange planet. He cannot breathe the air and has only 1 month (30 days) to retrieve all 25 essential part to his ship in order to return to his home planet. Your only hope is to rely on the loyal natives that you pull up from the ground.(note if take out the l and rearrange the letters in Olimar’s name it will give you MARIO)(also note that before the Gamecube had its name it was code named "the dolphin")PIKMIN is a very good game to get if you have a gamecube, and want a challenging game for a while. The easy to learn controls are perfect for the oddly shaped controller. This game takes a while to master even if you have the player’s guide at your right hand. (you should get the guide or play the level over and over until you master each day)You have 30 days to retrieve 30 pieces, but only 25 are need to leave the planet. You should try to get a part or more a day.The c-stick plays an important role in this game, unlike most Gamecube games. You control the direction of your pikmin with it. That is useful when you want to avoid getting your red or yellow pikmin wet (because they drown fast) and if you want your pikmin to avoid an attack by a holstile creature holding a piece of your ship or trying to get them to attack something or move something (such as a box or a piece to your rocket. Even though you don’t control the Pikmin, if feels like you do. That is another.
I love this game!!! it was in great condition when I got it and i have loved playing it. the Pikmin are sooo cute. Anyways great buy.
