Pros:- Fun, addicting game play- Detailed golf simulation. Can shape shots, add spin and choose shot types. Putting is challenging yet satisfying- Highly customizable difficulty levels ensure everyone can play with the appropriate level of challengeCons:- If they’re going to acquire PGA licensing and stick Justin Thomas on their cover, you better be able to play as Justin Thomas, or at the very least be able to play directly against him. The fact that you can do neither, with any of the pros, is borderline false advertising.- Game lacks any meaningful player progression. No way to improve player stats either directly or through clubs/gear upgrades- Graphics are seriously lacking for 2020. Courses are OK, but players are blocky and awkward.Overall I feel that the quality of golf (which is why you buy this game in the first place) carries this title to a respectable rating despite its flaws. Good starting point for the franchise, and if they’d flesh out some of the game modes and player progression and add the ability to play as the pros (along with a graphic overhaul) this series has the potential to be one of golfs best.
A fantastic game! There are small bugs that pop up but 2k support has been responsive. I expect patches soon for the few bugs that I have experienced.Customizability is a big part of this game. The player is able to adjust most aspects of their avatar, bordering on a Skyrim level of customization. Difficulty is also extremely customizable. There are several user input mechanics in play with the swing that can be enabled/disabled individually allowing the user to tailor their desired experience to suit their taste. Want a relaxed game where you don’t have to worry about your swing speed or tempo? Want to play with high winds, glass-like greens, and sensitive controls? It’s simple to set up initially as well as adjust on the fly, on a per user basis (if you are passing the controller back and forth among multiple users)The actual golfing aspect of the game is excellent. But I absolutely have to mention my personal favorite aspect of the game, the course designer! As much fun as it is trying to peg an iconic green like The Island at TPC Sawgrass, the moment is fleeting compared to the sheer joy of getting lost in the minutiae of course design. Elevated tee box with a blind landing area, narrowing sloped fairways angled to (or from) the green, fairway bunkers, a perfectly placed LEANING tree blocking shortcuts unless the wind is juuuuust right. Features like this course designer don’t just add a dimension to this golf game, they help you appreciate the little things about your l.
Really great game lots of fun
This the latest version of of the absolute best golf video game. PGA Tour 2K21 has a bunch of major improvements and many minor ones. The result more fun! My favorite video game….obviously!
This game is awesome I’ve been playing golf games for years, Tiger, Rory etc This one beats them all gameplay, graphics courses everything 10 out of 10, brilliant!!!!
Having this game for almost a week now and playing it a lot, it is a very fun game. The game play of it is very enjoyable and takes some skill to get good at making shots. However, it just needs some more features. I wish you could edit your players stats like hit power, aim, control, etc. All you do is buy different clubs to “upgrade” your game. The bad part is the basic clubs they give you are better than most of the clubs you can buy and they are just generic no name clubs which makes no sense. I have not played online but local multiplayer is enjoyable and easy. It does take a lot of time to buy things for your golfer even if you win tournaments in career mode. It is a fun golf game but if you’re looking for a NBA 2K or Madden myplayer experience you will be disappointed with its depth.
Glitchy but fun. More realistic than Rory Mcilroy. Needs some updating to correct a few glitches in keeping stats. And occasionally resets for no reason. I’m sure they’ll fix it soon
PGA Tour 2k21 is almost everything I could possibly want in a new golf game. There is a variety of single player options (career PGA mode and online societies), as well as online matchmaking to keep me entertained. The controls are easy to learn, yet fun and hard to master, which makes the game incredibly rewarding to play not unlike real golf.The absolute highlight for me is the course designer. What an incredible and powerful tool to put in the hands of players. The limits only end at your own creativity, with the ability to design ever single aspect of your course. It is simply the best “design your own†tool I’ve ever seen in a sports game. You can also share and download any community courses as well.The only negatives for me are the lack of being able to play as more pro golfers, and I wish there was a bit more to do in terms of leveling up skills in single player.Very minor gripes aside, this game is the perfect blend for golf fans and rides the line between fun and challenging flawlessly.
I just picked PGA Tour 2K21 up last night from a big box store, but I wanted to leave a review and say how awesome it is! It is so much fun. Reminiscent of the old Tiger Woods games, I had to force myself to put the controller down. I highly recommend it!
