Never played a persona game before, also not a fan of the murder mystery crap, but holy christ in heaven, this game makes me laugh get pumped excited and all of the above, other than having to get use to the voice acting — cause I’m use to japanese voice and english subs — a certain repeated line that is overly expected, this game is something else. MY especial favorite is the daughter of the man taking after you. cutest thing I’ve ever seen and heard. In general the game is good at adding in a ton of warm feeling real life events and environment. They ass the little things like how the school is done, the places you can go out and eat with your friends, and the home. The story is strange yet very gripping. I stop to play for a week and the second I jumped back in I got right back into the story. Recommend to anyone, everyone and all of the above. yay games best game I love it. Yippee.
This game is addictive as #$%^!!! I cant speak to earlier editions of the series, but this game for the Vita is pretty magnificent. The graphics are sharp, the story is engaging, the characters are funny and accessible, and the gameplay is intuitive. Pretty standard turn based combat mechanics as far as JRPG’s are concerned, and as always (or so it seems), the game centers around teens in school, lol. Seriously though, the past reviews have detailed the actual game well. I think it is stellar and put an hour or two in pretty much every night before I go to sleep. Sadly, all my other Vita games are gathering dust right now. This game definitely dominates the competition and absorbs all of my Vita time. Great…in fact, amazing game. A definite must own.
Persona 4 perfects on the anime themed high school sim / dungeon crawling formula most notably laid down in Persona 3. Where Persona 4 succeeds is in presenting a murder mystery with a whole lotta heart and an infectious upbeat feeling that makes the highs high and the lows low. It’s hard not to feel for the various characters as you become intimate with their hopes, dreams and darkest secrets. Persona 4 asks if you can face your inner demons at one moment then presents a heart wrenching dilemma between hanging out with your friends or going out for ramen. You’ll easily lose yourself in 100+ hours of solid JRPG complete with a bonus dungeon, some new endings and easily the most wholesome entry in the Persona series to date.
I’ve played Persona 5, but Persona 4 Golden is waaaaay better (in my opinion). Much more spoken dialogue (woo!! less reading!), more immediate character development, and they did the detective theme better than the justice one… I 100% recommend Golden over its original. Chie’s voice change was for the best (again, my opinion) and there are simply more scenes. I just play this game on a PSTV and it’s the same as playing Persona 4 on a PS to a television system. Awesome Game. Awesome Story. Awesome Characters. Awesome.
This Game is a masterpiece classic, from the amazing story that contains (psychology, philosophy, etc.) and grateful gameplay with sometime tedious mechanics for learn on how to use it, this game is flawless. I easily recommend this game to anyone that like RPG’S, this comes from a skeptic who wasn’t sold on the franchise but is now a fanatic. This is the best game on Vita with an amazing score. The only problem that I have with the game is the silent Protagonist he is voiced in Arena and the Animation but is an annoying mute throughout the entire game, expect when he yells PERSONA in combat. But that is a minor complaint and does not detract from the experience a must buy for all vita owners and all RPG lovers.
I ordered this alongside 4 other Ps Vita games and it arrived first so I had the chance to envelope myself in the game while I waited for the rest and I nearly forgot about the other ones due to how stellar this game is! I thoroughly enjoyed Persona 3 on my PSP and could not wait to try Persona 4 on my Vita; I definitely was not disappointed. The opening song, like all Persona games, is so good that I rarely skip it and end up trying to sing along even though i’m a terrible singer. The game play itself is similar to Persona and is a turn based fighting game, but the story is very captivating and the characters are pretty well done. I may not have finished it yet but I’ll update when I do~
I’m not too terribly far in to this game yet so take that in to consideration when reading this review, but so far I love this game. I’m not really too in to the J-RPG scene, I have some experience with Squaresoft titles like most all the the Final Fantasy games and Chrono Trigger/Cross but I’m willing to bet most J-RPG enthusiasts will say those don’t count. It has that “Japenese high school student with special powers” thing going for it that you often see in Anime’s that I usually HATE but this game not only pulls it off, but makes it work in it’s favor. As for gameplay itself. The combat system has basically the same menu driven combat mechanics as you’d expect, but the whole persona system it unique and fun, and I find that I rather enjoy having to balance the responsibilities you take on for character development with developing your combat abilities.Anyway, it’s great. Get it.Update – 12/17/13.Still playing but quite a bit further in. I thought I’d give an updated feedback.I guess I’ll start with a couple of gripes I’ve gotten. Nothing that makes it lose even a single of it’s 5 stars.Lack of variety in locations. I get this to some extent since it’s a high school student in rural Japan. There’s not a lot of places to go so it fits, but the whole TV world thing really gives a good opportunity to open this up, but instead it’s just a sequence of rooms and halls with different textures. The selection of enemies is kind of stale. At best you the same enemy as from a previous.
Possibly one of my favorite games ever!! 10/10. A must have for any rpg fan. Gameplay is fun, graphics top notch for games at the time. Soundtrack is snazzy and exciting, characters are lovable and the story is amazing. Many different activities and possibilities in the game for you to explore. Excellent replay value, new things to be discovered/accomplished in new game+. Don’t sleep on this game!!
I didn’t know what I would think about this game, it looked like a game that I would hate but I ended up really enjoying it!The story is charming and intriguing, the characters are hilarious and likable, and even though I have no idea what is being said, the music is great too.The plot is fun and interesting, and all of the interactions and side quests when you aren’t in the dungeon are all fun as heck. The actual dungeon crawling aspect was probably my least favorite part, but at least the layout and theme changes which keeps it interesting.Even if you aren’t a fan of jRPG’s, you should give this game a try. It might be the best game on the Vita at the moment!
Let’s face it … the PS2 is pretty oldschool right about now.And while the Vita may be on its last legs, it’s still an amazing and ridiculously underrated handheld.P4 Golden takes the original game and adds an additional scenario, as well as some new music and other assets. Beyond that, it’s Persona 4, which is one of the best RPGs of yester-decade.Absolutely worth it.
